Well, the weatherman who said it is a Weenie.

Daweena? Is that anything like "The wiener"?

The weatherman here says the last snow of the season - the one that comes after the flowers have been blooming & you've packed away your sweaters & turned off your furnace & planted your veggies - is what the Indians call "Daweena."

I hate Daweena.

Awwww George!! It's not nice for Mother Nature to be playing around with you, is it?

Tain't Fair!

It's getting there. The nurse's instructions said it usually takes 3-5 days for it
to really take affect. After 5 days...I have to call my doctor and let him know
how I'm feeling....painwise. If I don't get relief then I get the same procedure
15 days after the 1st one. Some people need 3 epidurals for pain control.
They can only give 3 epidurals in a year.

The pre-op room was full of patient's getting epidurals. It's what they do a lot of.
It usually takes 5 minutes....but, you spend 2 hours in the waiting room after you check in
and sign your life away. Pre-op about 30 minutes and recovery takes about an hour.

Our dogs are recovering....I have to give them baby aspirin for pain. The sutures are the dissolving kind
so, they won't have to go back. They also were microchipped. I didn't expect that.

Ray's having a "blast"....(yeah...right!!!) 3 sore bitches and Alana....our almost 4 year old granddaughter
to take care of tonight!! Poor Ray :(
Alana is "Ray-Ray's" little girl. All she wants to do is eat, check the mail and eat, check the mail...
She can reach the doorbell now. I had Ray disconnect it while the dogs are recuperating.

Does the epidural seem to be working for you?

I made it through the "lumbar and cervical steroid epidural injections w/ fluoroscopy".
Thank God we have medical insurance. Each injection cost $3,363.69 ....that's not including the
doctor's, anesthesiologist's and whoever else's fees!!

My nerves and bladder were in overdrive! I made quite a few trips to the bathroom!
They said it was a good thing because I had to lay on my stomach on top of
a pillow...and it would be uncomfortable with a full bladder. Laying across a pillow
opens up the vertebrae. They put in an IV and gave me a dose of Verced to relax me.....suuurrrrre!
As they were starting the procedure...I asked "When do I get something to relax me?"
They had already given it to me....so, they gave me a little more and I got relaxed
and talked the nurse's head off; in recovery!! I felt like I had drunk a few Apple-tinis!!

My dogs are getting spayed right now, so they will have their own post-surgery instructions.
Of course....if I have to remember something--I put it on the fridge.
My nurse's instructions are already there...and I better not follow the wrong set of instructions!! LOL!

Happy Birthday, Curtis! Deny the 40!

yeah, happy birthday Curtis :) You 40 yet? har har

This guy isn't bitter at all. Too funny.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4146756343

:: saw this link on a bulletin board. I am not looking for a wedding dress. Don't worry. ::

Damn. you're really good at guilt-trips, aren't you. one little *sigh* and I'm feeling like a creep.

*sigh* I'll try.

I really really wish I could, but only have the moolah for one vacation and it has to be the reunion ;) Why don't you guilt Kelly and Michael into a NYC visit and they can stay with moi :)

Tami ... check out the ... class reunion website. I'm especially proud of the message board - I did that part. It's not as pretty as the rest of it - Brian's doing the rest of it - but I did it all by myself. Yay, me. (btw - Kelly & Michael said to guilt you into coming to the reunion.)

Sandy is posting her poetry at fanstory.com these days. (I just noticed I need her to revise her profile. TMI) check her out at http://www.fanstory.com/selectprofileportfolio.jsp?userid=53765

she's pretty good actually.

Leisl...some people call hot flashes--"power surges"!!

Sunday, April 25, 2004

Yer tooo funnny George!

Hot flashes.....I get those too. I don't mind them in the winter...it's during 100 degree summer heat that tends to get the best of me.

Damn...I'm glad I have a penis.....

So, Pudgy is going through a sort of hamster perimenopause? Do they get hot flashes, too?

(BTW - I tried Remifemin a couple weeks ago. Not a good thing. Bad reaction to it. Made me very depressed. Guess I'll just keep drinking water & tea. That helps a little.)

I'll have the same thing in common with my fur babies too!
I'm gonna ask them if they'd take out the dogs' "stupid part" out too.

You can stand outside the glass front door and ring the doorbell
and they will bark at you for as long as you keep pushing the doorbell.
You'd think they would know us by now!!
Oh, and whenever there's a sound of a doorbell on TV that sounds
like ours...they go running around barking!! Stooooopid dogs!!
But, I love them :)

I can't breed my hamster Pudgy :(
She's a year old and I just found out they are "in their prime time"
when they are 16-18 weeks old! She'll still go through heat cycles,
but, won't be letting her pheromones go. No more "barnyard" smell in the office!!

Hooray for spaying!

I got the giggles one afternoon while playing with my dogs when I realized we had 2 things in common - we're bitches AND we've been "fixed."

Kyra (Kee Rah not like the model Tyra!) ,our Dalmation/Pointer mix and
Soccers our Cocker spaniel/stupid dog mix are getting spayed, on Wednesday for FREE!
The average price for a 50 pound dog, is $112 and for a 20 pound dog it is $90.
It's going to be done in a mobile vet vehicle from Animal Regulation and Disease control,
thanks to a $25,000 grant from PetSmart.

I had an address and a map that Ray printed out for me....and I got turned around (ok...LOST)
a few times, but, I found it. I got there at 6:30 am and there was a long line and a parking lot full
of cars. I got in line...the dogs in the car....and the line got down six people in front
of me. When they got to me, I got #7 and #8 for Wednesday. (They do 24 spay/neuters for cats and dogs.)
Oh well, at least I know how
to get there and I found the Animal Rescue League and picked up an application.

Our dog babies had been without food since 8 pm.....they sure were glad to get home
because they were thirsty and hungry!

I saw an old car and the old New Mexican, with the cowboy hat on, had painted on his bumper the following
message-- IMPEACH the son of a Bush!

Let us know how it goes you your town Melissa!

Mark Your Calendar

We all know that it is a sin for a Taliban male to see any woman naked
other
than his wife and that he must commit suicide if he does.

So this Saturday at 4:00 PM Eastern time all American women are asked to
walk out of their house completely naked to help weed out any neighborhood
terrorists. Circling your block for one hour is recommended for this
anti-terrorist effort.

All men are to position themselves in lawn chairs in front of their house
to
prove they are not Taliban, and to demonstrate that they think its okay to
see nude women other than their wife and to show support for all American
women. And since the Taliban also does not approve of alcohol, a cold
six-pack at your side is further proof of your anti-Taliban sentiment.

The American Government appreciates your efforts to root out terrorists and
applauds your participation in this anti-terrorist activity.

IT IS YOUR PATRIOTIC DUTY TO PASS THIS ON

you got it, Le :( That's how it was with Rich's mom. Its so sudden. :(

Thursday, April 22, 2004

I can do that Leisl :)

We received word last night that one of Brian's favorite aunts has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. There is nothing they can do for her. The doctors only give her another 2 months to live. Please, pray that Brian & his family will be comforted through this.

Yay! No snow. At least for now.

perfectly spring-like here. mid 60s to 70s, cloudy with some sun, showers in the morning and evening. Perfect :)

Wednesday, April 21, 2004

Sun, Sun, and more Sun..........with a little bit of wind.

ain't life grand?

Hail yesterday. Rain today. Snow tomorrow. Looks like there's a good chance we won't be taking soccer photos this evening, nor playing tomorrow. Darn. :-)

Tuesday, April 20, 2004

You are cheated. We just have lots of rain today. We need it thou.

So....I get up this morning and head out to work. As I'm walking towards the car I get a funny, eerie feeling that something isn't quite right.

I start scraping the snow from my windshield when it hits me.

There is SNOW...on my WINDSHIELD!

I feel so cheated.

She probably should have had stitches, but since it wasn't life threatening & the biggest scar will be inside her mouth (& we don't have money), we just put ice on it. She's doing much better today. Just a scab on her nose.

Enjoy the Epidural, Cathy! Make sure you bring a driver with you.

Well, tripping up the stairs is better than falling down stairs!
A busted lip is better than a broken leg...painwise.

Does Tylar's school have a picture "make-up" day?
When J.T. was a young'un his school had one. It was set up
for kids that were absent on picture day or their pictures turned out awful.

Well, my Epidural is scheduled for the 27th. The procedure takes between 15 to 30 minutes,
but I have to stay for 3 hours afterwards!!

That ought to be interesting!

Poor Tylar but it figures with it being picture day. I still want a photo though... please?
I have a feeling it won't be the first for her. Did she need stitches or is it a regular owie? I think she is safer on the pogo stick.

Ouch Cathy. That sounds painful. I hope they can fix you up.

Ra plays clarinet. Her regional orchestra competition is the Wednesday. Now she's teaching herself bass guitar. She thinks she wants to play bass in the jazz band her senior year. *sigh*

And Tylar tripped coming up the deck stairs Saturday afternoon, scraped her nose up & split her lip wide open. Pool little thing looks awful. And tomorrow is picture day. Go figure.

Saturday, April 17, 2004

I got the results of my MRI. I have a herniated disc between L 4-5.
Finally, and answer to the back pain I've had for 20 years!

So, since physical therapy doesn't work and regular pain meds
don't help much either....I'm being sent to a Pain Management Clinic
and they're sceduling an epidural for me.
I found a website that has animations showing herniated discs and epidural injections, etc.

Yep, It's amazing to see how a child can figure out how to make things easier!
They can be very creative!
They say the darndest things too...I'm still amazed that Alana said "actually".
She's only 3....soon to be 4; the day before Ray's birthday.

Congrats to Rachel and her school's band! I forgot, what instrument does she play?

Friday, April 16, 2004

Tylar just called me to come outside & see how good she is getting on the pogo stick. She can even jump on it with just one foot. Hmmmm. I venture out onto the deck & look down to see that she's dug a little hole & placed the bottom of the pogo stick into it so that there is no way the thing will fall over. THEN she jumps on it. LOL! How's that for ingenuity?

Rachel's school band received perfect scores in the regional competition yesterday! They now proceed to State. Yay!

Next week is regional orchestra comps. She's in that, too.

Thursday, April 15, 2004

I had another MRI--this time an L-Spine.
We have Open MRI places here and it's better, I think.
It still makes a lot of noise; even with headphones and music!

Ronnie,
Rent it first....then, if you like it...Best Buy always has it.
(I didn't care for it, but J.T. and his "Matrix" friends liked it.)

Congrats George! Go for the Angus beef....the donkey might be kinda chewy!

I had another inspection yesterday at work. Passed the thing but man o man was it tough. Boss owes me a bigassed steak dinner.

Wednesday, April 14, 2004

No, but, I would like to see it.

Ronnie,
Do you have Animatrix? If you do...did you like it?

"A horse is a horse, of course, of course,
And no one can talk to a horse, of course,
Unless, of course, the horse, of course,
Is the famous Mr. Ed!"

'Cause she looks like one, of course.

Why a horse?

Tuesday, April 13, 2004

Miss USA is a horse.

That is all.

Sunday, April 11, 2004

Hope the Easter Bunny is good to everyone! He brought me a hose holder with a hummingbird on it. Everyone needs
one of them! And the bunny brought Ronnie the 3rd Matrix Movie.

I hope everyones Easter was a good one.

Happy Easter!!!

Friday, April 09, 2004

LMAO!!! Cathy!!! Too funny!!!

Hooray Ronnie! Have fun!

Ronnie's band is going to do a real "bar gig" looking forward to going and listening to the band. May 7. Should be
fun.

This make you think twice about drinking

ok

This is from a Hamster website about breeding:

No they dont have to lock or "tie" but the male has to have about 8-10 orgasms before he impregnates the female.
If you broke it up right away after it started theres a chance she isn`t pregnant.

Now, I'm wondering who has the time to sit and wait for this to happen? Do male hamsters make noises or funny faces?

Wednesday, April 07, 2004

The same as mine....unless you mean cell phone numbers.

Goin' to New Orleans! Whoo hoo!! I'll be going April 25 to May3. I am excited. Yippee!!
Oh, and I get to go to a Kings game tomorrow night. Yay for me!!

Ray what's your phone number?

Monday, April 05, 2004

It rained today!

Yes I realize. You just said to let you know, so I'm letting you know.

Nope, hadn't heard on the cash. Hope she has fun. So far as recognizing her..... how is that different from most teens? haha So far as making it down... you do realize that Disneyland is in So Cal and I am in No Cal right?? tee hee
Plus, I already have a different vacation later this month. I had to postpone my Disneyland trip for a while.

27 was the best so far.

Mel, yes, thank you. I thought she acknowledged it already. Sorry. She'll be in Disneyland on Friday, btw. If you can make it down, she'll be the tall one in black wearing a giant scowl.

Happy Belated, George!!

Le - Did Rachel get the money I sent for her trip?

Happy Late Birthday George!

Le, 27 wasn't really *that* good was it?

Couldn't get hold of Sheila this weekend. Hi right back at Michael. (Best school dance date I ever had, and you can tell him so)

Sunday, April 04, 2004

Pretty good at YOUR age. I'm still holding out at 27.

Saturday, April 03, 2004

Happy Birthday George! You made it another year! Pretty good at our age.

Happy Brithday George I love you !!!

Happy Brithday George I love you !!!

Friday, April 02, 2004

Le...send me the name of someone that doesn't respond, and I'll crash the party as him.....

Ask her for me? We need all the help we can get tracking people down. BTW - Michael says hi.

damn. they never call me.

Sheila might know where some people are. Actually, probably only if they stayed in Poky.

Damnit! I just got another Notice to Appear for jury duty. This is my second time since January. What on earth makes them think I'm any more stable now than I was 2 months ago. Sheesh!

Nice try! It will be in Poky. Kelly's working on getting us great rates at the Red Lion (formerly Quality Inn).

Do you have any idea where anybody else is? Does Sheila?

ok. Might I suggest NYC as a premium fantastic location for said reunion? ;) I'll email you Sheila's address

Thursday, April 01, 2004

Tami - I'm on the planning commitee for the class reunion. Our target date is the weekend before Labor Day - August 27/28. Let Sheila, know for me! And if you could, send me her address, etc, too. Anybody else's you might have, too, for that matter. Michael lost all the "last known addresses" in a flood, so we are starting from scratch. *Sigh*
