Thanks for the congrats..I'm kinda rusty tho. It's been 23 years since I had a
"real" job. LOL!
They said I can wear jeans and tee-shirts or scrubs, so I went to WalMart
and bought 2 sets of scrubs. I swear you can find almost anything at WalMart.

I can even wear my sneakers with the flashing lights too.

8 frickin' inches of snow this morning.

Congrats on the job Cathy! I think you got the right job for you.

Sunny and 40 here. Geo we will send some sunshine your way. We will ALSO send back your wind!! It was really windy
yesterday. Thought we was in eastern Idaho.

Biff and I will check the car out more in 3 weeks. Going to the parents house for spring break. Finally some fun in the
sun. Muffy

Muffy and I went for a drive in the country yesterday then took in a dinner and a show with the commoners at the local cinema.

It was gorgeous here yesterday. A spring teaser. Today is supposed to be nice too :)

Saturday, February 28, 2004

61 and sunshine here. Lovin' it! Got my car washed today. Oh so nice to have a shiny car again.
Congrats on the job, Cathy!

Snow turned to windblown teeny tiny cold raindrops...it's 34 degrees and dropping.

SNOW SUCKS!!!

Congrats, Cathy!

It's misting....teeny...tiny.....cold wet raindrops.
And, I had to put a sweatshirt on....it's 41 degrees outside!!

Wanna switch George?

It's snowing...big...fat...fluffy...cold snowflakes.

Friday, February 27, 2004

ewwwww

congrats on the job. Of course you got the job. no surprise there ;)

Yes, it does Leisl!
I got the job!! I start working tomorrow at the Fairbanks Animal Hospital.
It's about 2 and a half miles from our house! I won't be shelling out money for
gas all the time. I really got lucky!

They deal mostly with cats and dogs. They have a lovely garden in the
back of the building--enclosed with chain link fence, even on the top!
And, it is just for the cats--the owner's cats and the strays that they spay
and neuter and then adopt out.
Also, the staff are Christians--so that is really cool!

I got to see them prep a dachshund for a spay--for me, that
was cool to see. But, they closed the door during the procedure :(
I wanted to see how big the uterus was. I've seen how little cats' uteri (sp)
are. I was curious. Afterwards, I asked the head tech about it and
she said it was in the trash and I was more than welcome to rummage for it!
I had to laugh....I wasn't THAT curious!

What Tami said. No day ruining at all. And congrats again. It feels so good to find what you always knew in your heart, huh?

you didn't ruin my day, but how tragic for you! I'll have to check out the website when I have more time. Congrats on the job and the baptism My best friend is a Jesus Freak :) Real jobs ... ugh.

Thursday, February 26, 2004

I hope I didn't ruin anyone's day by telling about my sisters--
that wasn't my intention.
And if I told you about it before...I hope I didn't bore you.

But, now I have lots of sisters (in-law) and in Christ!

I was getting dressed up today for a job interview at an animal hospital
and I started getting hot and sweaty!! I said to myself "Great! I DON'T
need a hot flash now! My make-up will slide off!
Well, I got in my Jeep and looked at the fancy thermometer and it read 77 degrees!
I had to use the a/c. I guess our winter is coming to an end...if you could call it that.

I'm pretty sure I got the job....I have to come in tomorrow and hang around
for as long as I want to and see how things get done. They told me it
gets pretty busy and crazy at times. They said if I could handle it....they'd
put me on the payroll!! I can't wait. If my probation period (cleaning up kennels, litter boxes
floors, etc.) goes well--then, I will be taught the ins and outs of being a Vet Tech.

I'm still doing some pet sitting, with Ray's help (as always)--
but, I have to get a "real" job because now we have a mortgage to pay.

Did you see the movie "The Fast and the Furious"?
Well, here's your chance to build your own fast car!

I was baptized a Christian...a Jesus Freak! I was one in high school,
*ugh* 30 years ago! (My 30th HS reunion is this June in Tucson, AZ)
Where did the time go??

My parents raised me as a Roman Catholic....but, I switched to
Christian when I was 16. At one point, I wanted to become a nun...
but my faith wasn't that strong....and then when my younger sister
died of a heroin overdose when she was 16 (in 1975)...I lost my faith.
My older sister died in a car crash when she was 8 (in 1957) That car crash
could have been worse, my mother was in the front seat holding me in her arms--
I was 16 months old and my older brother was in the backseat with my sister.
She was in the middle and went through the windshield. The rest of us got
bruised up...we could have all died. A neighbour and her children survived too.

But, when times got rough for me I still prayed and read my bible.
God was still there!

J.T. and I were baptized on the same night. Our church is called
Cornerstone Fellowship. It is a youth based ministry. They have just put together
a website
J.T. is one of the webmasters.

http://www.dennyweb.com/singing_horses.htm

Light rain turned to sleet, then to snow...been that way all day. The good news is the wind isn't sposed to pick up until midnight....

Oh Bif, be a good chap and post some pics.

Temps almost reached 50F yesterday. Now ... it's freakin' snowing! *$#@*^!!!

Cath, that's why I avoid pools after coloring my hair. And congrats, btw.

what are you baptized as, Cath?

Tami,
J.T. bought our tickets online. It worked out just fine for us.
I want to go again so I can read the sub-titles that I missed while
crying.

Leisl,
Red does fade fast and even faster when you are dunked in chlorinated
water...like at my baptism last month!

I think Ronnie should be called "Bif." Good preppy Beemer name. "Bif"

While red fades the fastest, it is the hardest color to get rid of. I say let her take it brunette. She's only young once. Rachel's is purple now, btw. Eggplant purple. It looks really pretty on her.

I'm hoping to go this weekend if I can get tickets. I won't be taking the kids though.

Wednesday, February 25, 2004

J.T. and I went to see the Passion of the Christ tonight.
Awesome! Bring tissues....I cried throughout the movie!

I don't know who Bucky is. I was trying to think of a name that goes with a Beemer. Buffy and Bip?

Sandy's hair ... don't remember the name of the color. For a "wash out" color it sure is hanging in there. Still red after all these months. She's got some roots going on and wants to color it brunette. I'm thinking on it. It's sooooooooo long. It took three bottles of color to do it last time.

Hey! I got my CD antitrust settlement check today, anyone else get theirs? $13.86, just about enough for a cd...hmmmm.

Tami...who's Bucky?

Hey, what colour/shade of red is Sandy's hair ?

Congrats on the beemer Ron!
Buying or leasing?

Going to have to start calling him Bucky or something. Does it come with a country club membership?

Tuesday, February 24, 2004

You're getting a beemer?!? You suck!

Myself?... too busy watching Tech TV I guess

Picking up the beemer today I am STOKED!

We have HBO, but I never remembered to watch Sex consistently. Have never seen Six Feet Under. In fact, why the hell do we have HBO anyway?

Well, I saw it! In the end, it wasn't just sex the women were after....it
was LOVE. That's what mattered the most.

I guess no one is looking forward to the start of the new season of
"Six Feet Under?" It happens to be on HBO too.

Monday, February 23, 2004

No cable here.

wish I did Cathy...we used too. We don't have HBO anymore. Jet

I didn't even see the first episode...or any episodes in between.

Did anyone see the last episode of Sex and the City?

Ha! Ha! George.....that's what Ray would say too!

part?

I call it my "skunk" stripe! LOL!

Saturday, February 21, 2004

I get silver streaks in my part, too.

Well....I didn't get picked to be a hair model...darn it!
One of the new colours they were going to demonstrate, along
with the technique was RED....I've already had done. My hair colourist keeps up
with the latest trends. Eight weeks ago, my hair was 3 shades of red--
red with copper on top; bright red was the middle colour and my ends were violet red.
Now, I have a silver-grey streak where I part it!

Thursday, February 19, 2004

what picture? I wanna see it.

Wednesday, February 18, 2004

George, Ronnie and I loved your picture to the folks. Nettie

sounds too fun Cathy, good luck!

George... I KNOOOWWWW. My daughter scares me. At least I feel pretty safe in the knowledge that nobody gets away with shit where she's concerned... teachers, parents, peers. She's not one to keep her mouth shut when something is happening she's not interested in :-o Just have to hope she's not interested in the things I don't want her to be interested in X-]

Brag alert: Ed got straight As again and Sandy's teacher says, "Sandy is someone people are going to hear from in the future." Ian's teachers say he has a brilliant mind (and will do great things if he can learn to focus his attention and stay on task) :/

Matrix (the hair care products) company is having a Hair Show this week-end.
I am going to an open model call on Friday night. If I'm chosen to be a hair model,
I'll get my hair done for free! They'll be showing new cutting techniques, colour,
and textures. I'll also get a goodie bag with Matrix products and $50 compensation!
WooHoo! I'm sure they'll do a much better job then the beauty schools I used to go
to when I was younger and poor.
Wish me luck!

I like your hair Tami!

Tuesday, February 17, 2004

ok...so I was browsing your website Tami, and was startled at some of the pics from Christmas. Sandy has grown....entirely too fast. She's turned into a hottie practically overnight. Gonna have to beat away the boys with a club soon.

Monday, February 16, 2004

here's my hair-do

Sunday, February 15, 2004

Tami...are you sure bob didn't say you were "stacked"? j/k
Poor Ian....it's the same way with Alana's sperm carrier. She still hasn't sent her a Christmas
card or any gifts. J.T. just found out she's unemployed--so no child support checks.
I hope Rich has a safe flight!

Leisl...your hair looks great, but, I never got to see the red hair. :(

Ray and I made each other happy for Valentine's Day!! He watched a
2 hour "COPS:Love Hurts" special on the tv in the office and I watched
"Bringing Down the House" with Steve Martin and Queen Latifah,
in the livingroom. (I'm glad I didn't pay to see the movie!)

Headline on the Sunday paper..."Snow Wallops Texas"
Mostly in the "heart" of Texas on Valentine's Day.
And, El Paso waaaaayyyy in FAR west Texas didn't
get walloped. It was just cold. Our temps are
forecast to be 65-70 for the next week.

I'll get Rich to take a pic of my new "do" tonight.

We had champers for valentines and went off diet for Chinese. Yum.

Sperm donor's present still isn't here for Ian. Ian caught up with him online yesterday though and he says he sent one and "doesn't understand why it isn't here yet" Yeah, right. He coulda called on the kid's birthday. What a waste of oxygen.

love the new hair, Le. You look good in bangs.

Saturday, February 14, 2004

Actually the "ex" sent them. No, not to get back together, just to be nice.
Neither of the newest guys knows where I live yet.
I CANNOT believe that Peja messed up on the 3 point shoot out today. Dang it!!!!!

I have curly hair now. Tami - want to see your haircut. Le - when did you go brunette instead of red?

I'm spending a romantic evening watching Brian do homework.

See my new hair!

Ronnie and I will be there in August. We have the time off already. We will leave here Aug. 4 and stay until
the 9th. We are taking the kids there on spring break and I will look into cheap hotels and talk with Sandy
about other options.
Hope everyone gets well. Did everyone have a nice Valentines day?

She sent them to herself to make you guys jealous.

Yeah, Mel. Who sent the flowers?

George, get back to work. *snicker*

Tami, I wanna see pics! If I could figure out how to show a pic on here, I'd post one of my newly brunetted hair.

Happy Valentines Day !!!!

Ian's 12

Hope you're feeling better Mel. Who sent the flowers?

George, get back to work

I got a haircut. The style is called a stacked bob. It's cute.

Too bad about all the cold weather. Once again I have the sliding door open to let in nice, fresh air. Low 60's again today so it won't be open long. Too cold. hee hee

Yay! I got flowers today!! Whoo hooo!

As much as I hate snow, it would nice if it warm up that much. It's too freakin' cold here to snow. I wanna move to Barbados!

Sorry about Rich having to leave again, Tam. That just sucks! Tell him to work fast so he can come home early and he'd better bring lots of shiny things back with him.

George is the slacker! I really am sick. Much better today though. Except for my shoulder that is. I pulled a muscle coughing. Not good.
Saw Along Came Polly last night. It was cute.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

HOw old is Ian Now?

Friday, February 13, 2004

hehehe

Did anybody notice that George's whisper sounded like someone else?
It wasn't there the first time I read his post.
*snicker*

It got all the way up to 10 degrees f today. TEN FRICKIN DEGREES!!!!!!!!!!!!

gads I love this weather!!!!

I found this to be amusing....
*****************************************************
Dear Tech Support:

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a slowdown in the performance of the flower and jewelry applications that had operated flawlessly under the Boyfriend 5.0 system.

In addition, Husband 1.0 un-installed many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.9, but installed undesirable programs such as NFL 7.4, NBA 3.2 and NHL 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 also no longer runs and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. I’ve tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do?

Signed,

Desperate

*******

Dear Desperate,

First, keep in mind that Boyfriend 5.0 was an entertainment package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system. Try to enter the command C:/I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME and install Tears 6.2. Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications: Guilt 3.3 and Flowers 7.5.

But remember, overuse can cause Husband 1.0 to default to such background applications as Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0, or Beer 3.2 or Wine 6.1. Please remember that Beer 3.2 and Wine 6.1 are very bad programs in that, among other things, they will create SnoringLoudly.WAV files.

Under no circumstances should you install Mother-In-Law 1.0 or reinstall another Boyfriend program. These are not supported applications and will crash Husband 1.0. It could also potentially cause Husband 1.0 to default to the program: Girlfriend 9.2, which runs in the background and has been known to introduce potentially serious viruses into the Operating System.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have a limited memory and can’t learn new applications quickly. You might consider running additional software to enhance his system performance. I personally recommend Hot Food 3.0 combined with such applications as that old stand-by I’m sure you’ve used in the past ...Lingerie 6.9 (which is consistently credited with improved system performance).

Tech Support

just found out Rich has to go back to Taiwan for a few weeks. Looks like he'll leave Monday night. short notice, eh? They wanted him to go Sunday night but he hedged them back a day.

Happy Birthday Ian today :) Friday the 13th too!

yeah. you can keep it. please.

it's official, Hell has frozen over!!

middle of the day and it's snowing in El Paso!! FINALLY!!

Yep Frank...they shut down Transmountain Pass because of it's higher elevation
and it gets more snow than the lowlands.

Darn...I wish the snowflakes would get bigger! You need a magnifying glass to see them!

(Ray already weed whacked the weeds before the neighbours complain--it
seems that the city doesn't like natural greenery.)

I've been applying for Vet Tech jobs....but, no offers yet. :(
My pet sitting business just doesn't make enough to pay
a mortgage, since my parents left me the house; in their wills.

George and Mel are slackers. Get to work :p

Mel....I'm sorry you're sick! It's a bummer for sure. I was sick with the flu from Thanksgiving to New Years.
I missed a Christmas party and a birthday party!

Gee whiz Frank...You might have a battle with Frankie's ex?
J.T. had it easy...his ex was in Virginia giving birth to another man's baby
and couldn't make it to the trial/hearing. Her lawyer didn't even show up! A court bailiff (sp)
had to track him down!
Now, she's not paying child support and she didn't even send Alana any Christmas gifts!
She came down last year for a week...Alana didn't even know who she was!
I think J.T. is considering going back to court to get full custody because his ex
isn't doing her part in joint custody.

Hey Cathy,
I hear they shut down highway 20 in el Paso today due to black Ice and accidents
Bet those sprouting weeds are gonna have to start again.

Welcome back to winter.

Still home today. It hit my lungs last night. I am not good at being sick. I am bored!!!!

I really wish we could get some of that cold white stuff here.

oh no :( I didn't even know they'd split up :(

Thursday, February 12, 2004

Planning on going but not "Sure" Yet. Haveta see HOw much I need to spend fighting for custody of my grand daughter for Frankie.

I *cough cough* took a sick day today also *wheeze, cough*. The trick is to call in early before your cow orkers get to the office, and leave them a voicemail.

***whisper***George always was a good Hypochondriac.***whisper***

Wednesday, February 11, 2004

Catching up on the posts...... guess I shouldn't mention that we have had fabulous weather, 60's and sunny. Is this why I live in California?? Oh, yeah.
I am sick though. Had to stay home today and tomorrow ain't looking too promising. I hate using my time off for actual illness.

We're planning on it. Need to find an inexpensive hotel though.

Tuesday, February 10, 2004

*Sitting on hands & pouting*

Count us out. No income.

we're planning on it, but can't say "for sure". it's gonna depend on alot of things. :(

it's the first week of Aug. right?

Ok...this summers gathering in Oxnard. Show of hands who's for sure going?

This time last year - and the year before and the year before that - I already had flowers blooming. Crocus, snow drops, Siberian blue stars. This year? Nothing but cold white crap! It's everywhere. I can't even see where my flower gardens are supposed to be. :-(

Monday, February 09, 2004

Cathy, no fair talking about trees getting leaves and weeds sprouting and gardening plans. not fair.

Nice ride Ron...you can blend in with the snow! j/k

Weeds are sprouting here and so are my allergies. UGH!
The trees are starting to get leaves.
It's time to get my garden plans together. I've only said that every year since 1997
and it hasn't happened yet...kinda like the Buffalo Bills not doing very well!!

This is the new ride I'm looking at

i think le is tryin to change the subject.

hey le

SNOW

bahahahaha

The Grammy's were a lot fun last night. Especially Prince, White Stripes, Robert Randolf, and Foo Fighters with Chick Correa.

yeah...we dug out twice this weekend. Snow is forcast for most of this week.

my sentiments exactly Ray.

We are just cold this week, no new snow. You dug out yet Geo?

Sunday, February 08, 2004

here's a picture I got from a jokelist. Thought some of you might get a laugh out of it.

go here

try to stay warm

Saturday, February 07, 2004

coming up on 2 feet since midnight...........

Snow sucks. That is all.

if this keeps up I'll be digging out all day tomorrow

Woke up to another foot of the sparkly white crap. At least the winds had died off.

It wasn't me either because I stayed up late at night just waiting
to see a snowflake or two. I guess Mother Nature decided you
guys needed a dose of the cold, wet stuff.

Friday, February 06, 2004

I wasn't me who "sent" the weather...cuz it's still here.

I'm sure I don't know what you are talking about.

(whistling) :-"

I want to thank all of you who sent the snow, ice, wind and cold to us here in Kansas who were enjoing the pring like weather. We really do not want to KILL you all. We Just wnt to maim you ang cause excruciating pain for the next hundred or so years.

Can it be May YET?

its raining ice. this sucks.

Thursday, February 05, 2004

The thrill is gone :(
Nothing but cold, sunny days...ok...some are partly cloudy--
and dark, cold nights.
Days 40-50 degrees
Nights mid to upper 20s
Our windy season is about to start and I hate that! We get
"Texas rainstorms", which are bad sandstorms here.

btw George...you're funny!

Wednesday, February 04, 2004

Spring is nearly here...you can feel it in the air. Forcast calls for the wind to drop below 15mph and it's sposed to get all the way to 34 by next week. Hell....at this rate the snow will all be gone by april.

I beat the crap out of a snowman today.

I used to think, "I'd never want to live in Texas (or Arizona)". Maybe I could change my mind.

cold. i'm cold. so cold.

Well, no snow here in the lowlands--the top of Mt. Franklin (the last part of the Rocky mtns. in America); only got a dusting.
We still have a less than 20% for tonight and tomorrow morning. As soon as the sun comes out, it'll melt anyway.

The threat of snow is a big thing here! Everyone goes to the grocery store and buys several boxes of hot chocolate!
You can't find the stuff anywhere!

if snow was warm i'd be alright

i don't mind the snow... its just the cold i hate.

I hate snow.

Tuesday, February 03, 2004

2 inches of snow in El Paso....whats coming next? Flying Butt Monkeys??

I'm waiting and watching....if the 1-2 inches of snow is real bad...they might close the schools for the day!
For real!! Ray couldn't believe it when it happened a few years ago!

We're getting snow, too, Cathy. But ... we're used to it.
