I'll be there for the show Ron. It's timely that you should mention the Make a Wish foundation now. As everyone knows Amber is due any time now, some of you may not know that her doctors had given her literally 99.9% chance that she would never be able to conceive, due to the amount of chemo she received during puberty.

It was about the same time that we got this bad news when a representative from Make a Wish foundation asked for an appointment with us. I don't know who contacted them about her condition, whether it was her school teacher, one of my friends, the clinic, or one of you. All I know is that the magic of a childs wish took hold from that day forward to her full (and now complete) recovery from a very aggressive case of Hodgkins disease.

For a week, they replaced needles with goosebumps, Chemotherapy with cotton candy, and doctors and nurses with Mickie and Minnie. I watched with my own eyes as despair and pain turned to smiles and hope.

For a week, there were no worries about money. Every detail had been thought of and taken care of. The everyday worries of life disappeared amid the fairy tales and smiles.

After our return from Disneyworld, Amber turned the corner and began to improve. Her cell counts were back up and she had more energy. The talk of a marrow transplant vanished and things were looking up.

I have no doubt that our respite from death and disease played a pivotal role in her recovery. She watched 2 of her friends succumb to cancer in the following months, all the while she was getting better every day.

I guess what I'm saying is, Make a Wish is no ordinary charity. I have seen the magic of their touch first hand and urge any of you that may donate to a charity to consider this one.

I ain't no Grampa yet. Ambers hangin in there, but this baby just doesn't want to be a June baby. Maybe tomorrow.....

I want to go to Six Flags!! Happy Birthday Dad!

George is this you? click on the bus.

George, You a granddaddy yet?

HAPPY BRITHDAY DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jack Crowne and the Coronas has been invited to play a benefit for the Make a Wish Foundation. July 18th 1 to 8 pm at the Eagle Winery :)

All the pics from the play I just finished up are online now.

Melissa, Ron and I went to Terminal last week. Good movie. Reminded me of Forrest Gump.
Anyone who likes Tom Hanks will like this movie.
George and Jeanette, ready to be grandparents tomorrow? :)

New movie review -- Two Brothers. I liked the ending but I didn't like the movie part. It was too sad for the little tigers. It was a good movie and the tigers were adorable. I'm not so good at the animal movies even when the ending is happy.

Tami - good luck with the styes. You are just trying to show us all up getting 3 at a time. 3 times is the charm. haha Keep up the compresses and don't wear eye makeup!

Went and saw The Notebook today. It was AMAZING!! THAT is the love we should all aspire to. Take kleenex for the last 20 minutes. I rate it in the top 5 love stories ever!!

I plan to see Two Brothers tomorrow.

My Yahoo addy is aminorml@yahoo.com

Tami...when it rains...it pours, huh? I hate to have a stye on my eyelid because
they feel 10 times bigger when you wear contacts!!

I have another appointment with my ortho doc on Tuesday. He'll probably take another set of Xrays
to see if my ankle is healing. I'm not ready for any foot races yet!
I forgot to mention that last week, a Vet clinic called, asking me if I'd like to work for them.
I told them of my unfortunate accident and they told me to get in touch after my ankle is healed.
Speaking of job offers....good luck on yours George!!

Yes all my family live in Twin Falls or around that area,I havent lived in my home town for 24 years I sure am keeping my fingers crossed.

ok. I went to the care station and I am so special that I get to have 3 styes in the same eye instead of the more ordinary 1 per customer. That's why my eyelid is so swollen. Doc says warm compress every couple hours and gave me some eyedrops. You know, if you're going to do something you may as well really do it big I guess :p

my yahoo ID is tamaramarler@yahoo.com I think

Thanks for the stye advice. I did the washcloth thing last night and it helped a bit, although it actually looked a little more swollen this morning until I did the washcloth again

Geo's Jeanette, bet you're happy about the Twin Falls job. Doesn't your family live there?

Hope Amber goes into labor on her own. Inducing labor sometimes sucks.

Thursday, June 24, 2004

I talked to Amber if she does'nt have the baby by Tuesday they are going to induce they did some stress test and the baby seems to be doing ok just taking his time in getting here! Wish we could be there for the big moment :( but she promised pictures

Tami - I've done the warm/hot washcloth for styes - works great. I've also tried tea bags. I prefer chamomile - it soothes and lessens the swelling. The doctor usually says - give it time and try warm washclothes. hmmmm

Saw Dodgeball today. It was stupid funny. Definately worth matinee price. I'll be seeing The Notebook tomorrow and Two Brothers sometime this weekend. Movie review to come. :-)

I had pulled my back on Friday night. Finally went to a chiropractor on Wed. Gosh I feel better!!!! I am trying to get my boss to reimburse me. According to the chiropractor it is due to holding stress, etc. I am also trying to push for future appointments. I'm working on a hell project so it is justified. hahaha

Guess I will miss Ronnie more often won't I Geo? If you take the offer.....
Any baby yet? or babies?

I just returned from a final interview in Twin Falls. It's an internal transfer within GE and they're sending me an offer letter early next week. If it's a decent offer, we'll soon be moving to the Magic Valley.

so... my Yahoo name is ronytodd@yahoo.com I do not check the email on this account so send no mail here what is everyone els's yahoo messenger addys?

the new yahoo messenger rocks anyway.

I'll try the washcloth, Cathy. this thing hurts like heck. If it isn't getting any better in the next couple days, and certainly if it swells much more, I guess I'll visit my doctor

I've been having "issues" with MSN a lot lately, so I've switched over to Yahoo Messenger. Cousins, add me to you lists.

Tami,
I haven't tried tea bags for sties, but I have used a warm washcloth
on my eyelid. Keep it there for about 15 minutes--4 times a day. That
will make it heal faster.
Another thing...go without eye makeup until the stye is gone. Your eye will feel better
and you won't spread the infection.

You could wear a pirate eye patch and tell everyone you're just checking it out
for your Halloween costume!! LOL! j/k

I have a stye only instead of being on the rim of my eyelid its farther in where I can't see it. owie. Has anybody ever tried the tea bag thing? and does it really work? I got some cream stuff but how gross is that to put goop in your eye?

remember that she promised what? huh? what are you talking about anyway :p

Wednesday, June 23, 2004

But the question now is......... will you remember she promised you? hahahah

Memory? what's wrong with my memory? Har Har. Doc ordered a bunch of blood tests to check for thyroid or hormonal problems and a bunch of other junk. I go back to review results in a couple weeks. She promised me we'll figure out what's going on with me.

Tuesday, June 22, 2004

The wait is killing us !!!! Just think we have another grandson due July 6th

Hey Tami....how's the memory? Have you talked to your doctor yet?
My copy of "Let's Live" (from GNC) and they had an article on memory loss/forgetfulness.
It said it can result from age, lack of sleep, inattention or disease.
I hope you find out the cause of yours soon.

GNC also has "Let's Live" on the net.

Mel,
Sorry you didn't get the promotion. Maybe next time??
J.T. saw DodgeBall on Father's Day. He said it was hilarious!!
He went with "the guys" and they said the same thing.

I'm not buying Bill Clinton's book!
I'd rather laugh...Bill Clinton jokes and political cartoon links are here.

Boy, George....gosh that sounds so 70ish...LOL!
Amber has LONG hair now! Wow! She doesn't look thrilled in that picture;
her baby must have been kicking a lot!
What did she graduate from?

Is Amber having a lot of Braxton-Hicks contractions? Are they considering Pitocin
to boost/speed up her contractions?

Monday, June 21, 2004

Ray, call me ot your brother curt.

You mean gas isn't romantic?? all that natural music....the aroma? what could possably be more romantic than that?

Tami - Since when is gas romantic?? That I DON"T miss from having a man around. haha

I did not get the promotion. That is okay though. I'll just have to win the lottery.

Not much news from Amber. She went to the hosp, they checked her out watched her for a few hours and sent her home.

It'll be hard getting to sleep tonight....

Happy Father's Day!!!

BTW, just sent off Rich's paperwork to make his greencard permanent. It felt so weird having to send proof we were in a viable marriage to the dept. of Homeland Security instead of directly to INS. Apparently HS has a go at it before they send it on to Immigration? Or maybe they are the same thing with a new name. BTW, just in case you're wondering ... I don't need to know what color his toothbrush is, just have to show things like joint checking accounts, both of us on the mortgage, cars insured for both of us together ... things like that. Not very romantic is it. I'd rather have to know what color his toothbrush is and if he gets gassy from cauliflower heh.

So George... Are you "grampa" yet?

fingers crossed Ray :)

Happy Father's Day to all you Fathers out there!!!

Saturday, June 19, 2004

There were some TSA jobs opened up here in El Paso and I did the online job app this evening. With some luck I'll get a call and/or e-mail from them so I can go to work at the airport. Y'all keep your fingers crossed for me.

Saw The Terminal today. It was pretty good, not great but good. Good date movie (and I was on a date - go figure). My ex, Jason, took me to movie and lunch today. It was good to see him again. He is one I stayed super good friends with.
Saw Around the World in 80 days on Thursday. That was a really good family movie. I enjoyed it a lot.
My interview went good on Friday. I find out sometime next week. We'll see.

LOL! George.....I wasn't either.
I still can't get used to "Gramma". Of course, most of the time Alana calls me "Mom" because
Ray and I raised her for nearly 2 years! She doesn't call Ray; "Grandpa" yet. She calls him
"Ray-Ray".
Now....what is your grandchild going to call you??

Amber has been having intermittant contractions the last few days. She's hoping for a fathers day delivery.

I'm not old enough for this.

The 2004 Great American Mutt contest is a nationwide competition to find the most special and unique group of mixed breed dogs in America that have been adopted or rescued. The stories we’ve heard over the years are always amazing and inspiring. We look forward to new inspirations for 2004.

How to enter: go to Tails In Need

Found this in a Geocaching group on Orkut.com

With apologies to Robert Frost:

Two paths diverged in a far off wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one cacher, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To waypoint hid in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because the GPS was pointing there;
Though other cachers passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both containers that morn do lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I am the first at the cache this day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two tracks diverged in a wood, and I
I took the prize left hidden by,
And that has made all the difference.

Is it okay for the tetanus shot site to itch?? Mine is red and itches....
I saw my orthopedist on Tuesday and he took another set of Xrays and
agreed with the ER doc.
I had sprained, disclocated and broke my fibula bone.It was a transverse break.
He said I did the right thing by fixing the disclocation right away.
It saved me a lot of pain and damage to the area.

I kept asking the nurse and the doc...."You can cut my jeans off--like on TV!
My husband said he'd buy me a new pair!" Well, they made me take them off instead.
I'll get new jeans anyway...later :)

I can use ice packs on my left knee, as well as my ankle. The Xrays of my left knee didn't
show any breaks or tears. I just banged it up real good. I can also step lightly
with the walking boot. That makes getting around a little easier. I never was good at hopscotch
when I was a kid anyway!

Thanks for the NIC offers But I found one :)

Ronnie,
Do you need a pci or an isa nic. I have both let me know and I will send it to you.

Ronnie,
Do you need a pci or an isa nic. I have both let me know and I will send it to you.

Boy! That was refreshing Tami! Nice to read about someone else's probs!
Sounds hormonal to me too.

I made a grilled cheese sandwich by myself yesterday! Now, I'm glad I have a narrow kitchen...I've always hated it. Also, chairs with rolling casters!! I can get around the dining table and the kitchen; pretty quick now.

Cathy - it's all about me don't you know? :p j/k of course I know you're bummed too. The way life gets in the way of our fun really sucks sometimes.

Today is the dreaded gyno appt again. I hate them now. Pray for a normal PAP for me. I don't want to go through all that crap again this time around. Richard made me a list of concerns to ask the doctor about as well. Top of that list... why has my previously barely perceptible case of CRS gotten to be nearly debilitating. I swear I can't remember the simplest things. I took a pound of hamburger out of the freezer last week and put it in the microwave to thaw like I usually do (don't turn it on or anything, its just a small enclosed space useful for thawing things without the cats getting at it) Yeah, well 3 DAYS LATER when I go to heat up some coffee I remember it! I'm on the planning committee for Sandy's 8th grade graduation dance. a couple weeks ago I spent the morning emailing back and forth with the other people on my committee arranging an organizing meeting for THAT NIGHT. Yeah, so I sat at home all night trying to remember WHAT I'd forgotten to do today. Once upon a time people may have described me as somewhat organized, reliable, never late to things. I'm much more likely to be described nowadays as UNorganized, UNreliable, perpetually tardy, and ... in brief ... BLONDE. Can't tell you how many orthodontic appts etc have been missed because I forgot about them (even though I've got a family calendar and a palm pilot that I put absolutely everything in) And *I'm* expected to keep my ADD boss and son on task and focused? That's a laugh!

Also, probably tmi, but God only knows when I'm going to get my monthly visitor anymore - or how long its going to stay. And just when I think she's left the building ... nope not quite yet.

We won't even discuss my sex drive. Nothing to talk about anyway.

Sounds hormonal, don't it? I think so. They can do something about that, right?

Anyway, my rant is over. Back to your regularly scheduled blog.

Tuesday, June 15, 2004

OMG!! Can you believe that Detroit did it???!!!! They beat the Fakers, uh, Lakers. Go Detroit!! Amazing for an Eastern Conference team. What whiny statement do you think that Shaq and Kobe will come up with for this one??

I'm bummed to infinity +1.

Awwww Tami :(
I'm sorry that you're bummed out... I must be bummed plus infinity!!

Yeah, I'm so bummed we won't ALL be there. Its been so so so long since I've seen you guys :~(

Monday, June 14, 2004

We sure are disappointed that you can't come for the reunion Cathy and Ray. Was hoping
for an updated family picture. Take care of your ankle Cathy.

Ray and I won't be coming to CA because of my current physical problems and lack of funds! Sorry guys!

Sunday, June 13, 2004

Anyone have a NIC card they don't need? I got a P133 PC at the auction for $18 and I need a used network card. Base 10 will do just fine. Plan on making a web based sprinkler system timer with it.

Saturday, June 12, 2004

Bought a new mower today. finaly got rid of this piece of crap I never did like that yard bug

I'd like to do the library too. Been to the zoo a gazillion times, Nettie wants to do the zoo. Might be a good day for a dive.

Bill, the zoo on Friday would be fine or Saturday. It will depend if George wants to go.
Him and Curt will be going back home on Saturday. And The Reagan library is close by and
is an afternoon adventure. Anyway that is what mom says. Ronnie and I haven't been.

Tami We were thinking about the zoo on friday cause we won't be in till Thursday evening.

DeeAnna wants to go to the Reagan Library while we are in Cal in August. Any one else?

Friday, June 11, 2004

Cathy, we were wondering if you and Ray will be making it to So. Calif for the reunion
in August?? Everyone else will be there from the siblings.

I had 2 more epidural injections this afternoon. Ouch!!
Shoot...double ouch!! They said they gave me Verced to relax me...but, I never felt it :(
It hurt a lot this time! From the time the Dr. started until he finished;
I kept saying "OW-OW-OW"

Tami - I was wondering. But wasn't it nice of me not to point it out? I have 2 interviews for this job. One with my boss (did it) and one with her boss (next week).

I now have a crush on the cheese guy at the Whole Foods Market. He is soooo cute but I think he is in his early 20's. I am such a Mrs. Robinson. They are having a 1 year anniversary party there tonight. Free beer, wine, a band, etc. I may wander down. Maybe my cheese guy will be there. I also have a crush on the produce guy at Safeway. Maybe I just like men who can bring home the bacon, cheese and produce. haha

If anyone would like to write their condolences for Mrs. Reagan and her family;
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation in Simi Valley, CA. has one.

Melvin. I'm having memory problems lately (seriously, I am!) I was reading back posts and see that you said like 2 weeks ago that you were going after a promotion. I even told you good luck. And I've already forgotten about it?? I have a serious case of CRS lately. How many interviews do you have for this gig? (Not that I'll remember your answer a week from now, apparently)

I tried to email this out, but looks like my address book needs some renovating.

- A teacher asked her young pupils how they spent their spring vacation.

One child wrote the following:

We always spend our vacation with Grandma and Grandpa. They used to
live here in a big, brick house, but Grandpa got retarded and they moved
to Florida and now they live in a place with a lot of other retarded
people.

They live in a tin box and have rocks painted green to look like grass.
They ride around on big tricycles and wear name tags because they don't
know who they are anymore.

They go to a building called a wrecked center, but they must have got
it fixed because it is all right now. They play games and do exercises
there, but they don't do them very well.

There is a swimming pool too, but they all jump up and down in it with
their hats on. I guess they don't know how to swim.

At their gate there is a dollhouse with a little old man si! tting in it.
He watches all day so nobody can escape. Sometimes they sneak out. Then
they go cruising in their golf carts.

My grandma used to bake cookies and stuff, but I guess she forgot how.
Nobody there cooks, they just eat out. And they eat the same thing
every night: Early Birds.

Some of the people can't get past the man in the dollhouse to go out,
so the ones who get out bring food back to the wrecked center and call
it pot luck.

My Grandma says Grandpa worked all his life to earn his retardment and
says I should work hard so I can be retarded one day, too.

When I earn my retardment I want to be the man in the dollhouse. Then
I will let people out so they can visit their grandchildren.

Tami-
Yes, an inhouse promotion. I am trying for my level 3. Basically my job with a ton of more responsibility. It begins to move more into the managerial responsibilities for our team.

I must have missed it, Mel. What exactly are you interviewing for? In-house promotion I guess?

Thursday, June 10, 2004

One interview down. One to go. The next one is next Thurs or Fri. I think this one went well. We'll see.

no

:p

Wednesday, June 09, 2004

George and Tami -
will you please email me something so I can get your address from the email and put it in my address book?
mmarler@surewest.net

thanks

My interview is tomorrow at 11. Keep good thoughts in mind for me. It is weird to be interviewing with your current boss. It is next to impossible to blow smoke up someone's butt when they know what you do and what projects you have worked on. Let's hope that I haven't screwed up anything recently that she knows about. haha

Like this?

There's only room for 12 photos and I have a few good ones from the macs in trip that Curtis took but I need more.Send me you full resolution images if you want them entered as candidates for the calendar.along with the month suggestion if you have one. I'll give them to the committee. heh  Posted by Hello

Just finished with modifications to the band web site make sure you check the blog link.

STacy went on midnight the first night Harry Potter opened! She loved it. I can't wait to go this week. Sorry you were all sick. And your right they had better hurry on the next 4 movies.

We went and saw Harry Potter Saturday night. Wow, it was done really differently than the first two. Way more grown up. I kinda missed the golden toned magical thing though. They better hurry up making the next ones or those kids are going to outgrow their characters.

Ian was sick Friday/Saturday so naturally Sunday I was sick (and Sandy too) All night long was spent praising the porcelein gods. UGH. Stayed home today and I still can't face actual food - can hardly keep liquids down. It's going around apparently. I called the school to get Sandy's homework and her teacher said a lot of kids are out with a stomach virus today.

Ed took his SAT on Saturday. He says he messed up and stopped when there was still one more page to go on one of the verbal sections, so he didn't answer like 7 questions :/ He's decided if it brings his score below 1300 he'll take it again in September.

Dad's site is done (until he sends us more photos, that is)!

Melissa, your right Raising Helen was a cute tear jerker movie. My daughter and I loved
it. Went last night!

I don't want to see another tomato....I sliced, diced and made wedges forever yesterday!! The dicing was the worst because the tomatoes splatter in the dicing machine. Oh, and Ronnie...I agree with you on the Tech Tv thing. Why are they spoiling the show with G4?

Remember Johnny Castaway. I think I still have that one lying around somewhere

There is an email going around:

New M&M colors

Pass this on to all of your friends. There are many women out there who
have
breast cancer. Lets do all we can to support this cause.
New Pink &White M&M's

The makers of M&M candies has teamed up with the Susan G. Komen Breast
Cancer Foundation to raise funds through the sale of their new " pink
&white
" M&M candies.
For each 8-ounce bag of the special candies sold, the makers of M&M
(Masterfoods) will donate 50 cents to the foundation. The next time you
want
a treat, please pick up a bag (now sold in stores nationwide) - you
will be
donating to a great cause and satisfying your sweet tooth.

Please pass on to all your family and friends. -- Thank you.

Sounds good, huh? Well, I did a little checking into it and while it appears to have been an actual promotion once upon a time, it isn't now. Sad, huh? So ... some friends of mine & I are sending emails to M&Ms asking if they would do this again. Wanna join our campaign to bring M&Ms & Breast Cancer research together again? Go here: http://us.mms.com/us/legal/feedback.jsp, send them an email and ask them to please bring back the pink M&Ms fund raising drive! I just did.

Oh, and from the sister that is not paranoid. If any men that are rich, handsome and can pass a psych test are reading this..... by all means...... post a message to me.
hahahahha

Saw a few movies this weekend.
Raising Helen - very cute, tearjerker. Seemingly non-parental units can too be good step-in type parents. HA!
Shrek 2 - tee heee As good as #1. Pinnochio wears women's thong panties.
Val Helsing - too funny. A couple "Boo!" moments but overall - silly. The transformations and special effects were kinda cool. Not scary though!
Videos watched
Welcome to Mooseport - silly but cute. I liked it.
Big Fish - interesting. At first I wasn't liking it but then I started to enjoy it.
Stuck On You - Stupid but I couldn't help laughing.

There ya have it from Melissa Ebert. hahahahha

I turned on comments on this blog today, so non members can comment on what is posted by members if they want. let me know if anyone is opposed to this I can turen it off. I thought it might be cool to see who was reading the blog.

heres a cool link

http://www.geocities.com/tee_king/stress.html

I used to watch screen savers alot. I've heard their programming now basically sucks ass.

OK call me a geek but I am upset about what there doing to TechTV. This whole G4 merger is AFU!

You're too paranoid LE

Nope. I had no idea. Makes me a bit uncomfortable. Actually, a lot uncomfortable.
