I am posting this a day early since tomorrow is not going to be a good day.
March 30th ---- Please remember all of the men and women serving in our military as well as their families and friends. As a few of you may or may not remember, March 30th is the day that Robert Lynn Hadid died in a transport accident during the "after support" of Desert Storm. 13 years ago the transport truck he was driving lost control and went over a cliff. He was pronounced DOA. I was notified at work that my life was changed forever.
I have moved on to an extent but a part of me is forever stopped at that day. Robert was my love, my friend, my lover, my everything. I can only hope that he died knowing that he saved me, loved me, and forever changed me.
Thankfully I had friends/family that were there for me and kept me here to love again. My little goose played a big role in that even though she was but a very small one. (Le, please convey that to her.)
Robert had such a strong love for THIS country, which was not the one he was raised in, his family, his friends and my family. Robert taught me to trust, love, believe. I believe that this was the reason that he was put on this earth.
So ---- remember a great man today.

My friend, Lezelle, is back stateside! Yay!!! She was in Turkey visiting her son. I hate when she has to travel to that part of the world. They had a good visit and my 'nephew' is doing well. We are still hoping that his father will allow him to come here for high school. Fingers crossed!! I am also hoping that she remembered to bring me back some good saffron since I am almost out of it.

Meet Cranky Man! (I love my Cranky Man.)

As I may or may not have told you, Andrea and I are raising rabbits (to eat them - tastes like chicken without bird flu). Well, we bought 3 does and 1 buck awhile back and they are old enough to do the wild thing now, so we put the buck in with a doe and he just sat there. His name is George, by the way. Anyway, we thought maybe he just didn't fancy Beyonce so in he went with Latifah. No love there either, in fact she went after him like he'd just slept with her best friend, which he didn't, as I said a moment ago. So, we rescued him from Latifah's scorn and tried him out with Kit. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Finally, I had this bright idea and checked George's equipment - we'd only just taken the word of the breeder we bought him from after all and she WAS a little near sighted. Well, sure enough - George is Georgina! Breeder Woman swapped him/her for a genuine male who is promised to be very interested in our 3 very sassy gal bunnies - in about 4 months. Updates forthcoming... or not.

OK,
I would like to know if I am the only one of the kids who is given the Senior Discount at restaurants without asking for it? This has happened to me twice and after complaining both time I was told.
"That's OK you look like you are old enough." how insulting is that.

A Senior Moment

An elderly Florida lady did her shopping and, upon returning to her
car, found four males in the act of leaving with her vehicle. She dropped
her shopping bags and drew her handgun, proceeding to scream at the top
of her voice, "I have a gun, and I know how to use it! Get out of
the car!"

The four men didn't wait for a second invitation. They got out and
ran like mad. The lady, somewhat shaken, then proceeded to load her
shopping bags into the back of the car and got into the driver's
seat. She was so shaken that she could not get her key into the
ignition. She tried and tried, and then it dawned on her why. For
the same reason she did not understand why there was a football, a
Frisbee and two 12 packs in the front seat.

A few minutes later, she found her own car parked four or five
spaces farther down. She loaded her bags into the car and drove to
the police station to report her mistake. The sergeant to whom she
told the story couldn't stop laughing. He pointed to the other end
of the counter, where four pale men were reporting a car jacking by
a mad, elderly woman described as white, less than five feet tall,
glasses, curly white hair, and carrying a large handgun. No charges
were filed.

Moral of the story?

If you're going to have a Senior Moment, make it memorable.

I posted a new song - an original - on my vanity site. "Once Upon A Time" (right click, save as)

Who watched the Oscars last night. I loved this quote:
"I have to say it is a little shocking to see all these big names here, these huge stars. The Oscars is really I guess the one night of the year when you can see all your favorite stars without having to donate any money to the Democratic Party. And it's exciting for the stars as well because it's the first time many of you have ever voted for a winner." — Oscar host Jon Stewart during the opening monologue

Ian is going to live with Kirk, probably this coming weekend. I can't keep track of him. He was out until 2:30 in the morning a couple weeks ago. If I give him any independence at all he takes off for hours and I never have any idea where he is. Yesterday he took the dog for a walk, in an attempt to show me he can be trusted. Well, 4 hours later I found the dog tied up at a friend's house and Ian nowhere to be found. He's smoking. I'm fairly sure he's tagging. I keep finding switchblades under his mattress. Maybe Kirk will have better luck. I'm heartbroken, really heartbroken, but I don't think he's safe with me. Kirk is home by 2:30 everyday and can supervise him where I can't.

I feel like I've failed him.
