Hey guys, just got back from Seattle, unscathed save for a speeding ticket from Oregon. Ugh.

For those who don't follow me on twitter (shame on you!) I have big news! Dalin and I are engaged! He proposed at the japanese garden in the washington park arboretum. I'll be writing about it more at alek.nutang.com at some point but I am too tired right now and I wanted to let you all know first.

Thank you to all of you who have served in the military. You are my heros!!

Sitting on my front deck drinking my morning beverage at about 8:33 and was suddenly startled by a loud BOOM-WHOOM. What was that? A bomb going off on the base nearby? Terrorists attacking one of the big cargo ships hat Hueneme docks? Gun salute from a tall ship in the harbor? Nope. Sound barrier being busted by the Space shuttle coming in overhead for a landing up at Vandenberg AFB. Glad our great astronauts got home safely FINALLY.

AS IT SHOULD BE!!!

BBQ RULES We are about to enter the BBQ season. Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking activity. When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion:
Routine...
(1) The woman buys the food.
(2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert.
(3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill - beer in hand.
(4) The woman remains outside the compulsory three meter exclusion zone where the exuberance of testosterone and other manly bonding activities can take place without the interference of the woman.
Here comes the important part:

(5) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.
More routine...

(6) The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery.
(7) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is looking great. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he flips the meat.

Important again:
(8) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.
More routine...

(9) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table.
(10) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.

And most important of all:
(11) Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts.
(12) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed "her night off ," and upon seeing her annoyed reaction, he concludes that there's just no pleasing women.

Woke up, Got out of bed, Drag a comb across my head.
Let's all do a day in a life!
I'll start.....

A Day in a Life. Ronnie Sun May 17th
Woke up just before 10:00AM and jumped in the shower.
I'm excited about today, Tim and I are playing a wedding reception for a family friend. It's poolside at an estate in Eagle. And it's going to be a hot sunny day.
Step out of the shower to the phone ringing. It's my wonderfull wife she's been up since god knows when and has already gone to the gym and is on her way home from buying groceries and wanted to know if I wanted a Starbucks? September and me started loading the sound equipment into the garage from the studio so that it's ready to go when Tim gets here. meanwhile Jeannette is putting away the groceries. I find out later that I should have helped her with that (DOH).
Lay down on the window seat in the living room. It's quiet except for the sound of the fountain in the front yard. It's peacefull and I admire how green everything is.
Timmy shows up and we load the gear and we're ready to go. We run down the street to Trish's and sit on her patio and discuss the food arangements for our up coming Lake Wallowa camping trip. looks like we're haveing a prime rib. Don has a pellet stove and he is going to do the slow cook/ smoke thing, It's going to be good.
Off to the show now. It's hot on the drive down and it's a preview of what's to come. They set us up with our backs to the pool facing the grass and driveway. but as people show up it's obviious that the party is going to happen under the awning behind us where the misters are by the pool so we do an about face. The party is fun and people seem to be into what we are doing. We know allot of the people there some from work and some through friends. Tim and Me get offers for at least 3 more shows. Party is breaking up so we pack up and hit the road. The heat and beer has taken it's tole and I'm ready to call it a day. Move all the gear for the 4rd and last time today, this time back into the cave. I'll have to hook it all back up but that can wait till tomorrow. Right now it's time to hit the couch and veg out on Survivor and law and order. 10:00 and off to bed. it's hot so I sleep with the window open and the covers pushed to the end of the bed. Life is good

Mom,
Thanks for all you did/do for us.
The odds were stacked against you from the very beginning, but you were there. When others would have justifiably walked away, you stayed. You helped teach us right from wrong. You praised us for doing good, and punished us for screwing up. (Funny, I remember more praise than punishment.) When we skinned our knees, or had a broken heart, you were there to make it all better. You always had a smile, or an encouraging word for us, no matter what. You cried when we left home, and sometimes cried when we came back, but you were ALWAYS there. I know if I need someone to talk to, you are just a phone call away.
Mom, Thank you, I love you.

Photos of topless anti-gay marriage advocate revealed. Although the nips are covered, it's pretty plain that those boobs were not "enhanced".

Amber, Daelan and myself are heading to Warm River for a campout this July. We'll be there from the 16th to the 19th and would welcome anyone else that wants to join us. This will be Daelans first time fishing the river and I hear he's quite excited about it. I am too.
