Have fun on vacation! I'm sorry we can't be there.
We're still hanging in there waiting for information from Eureka's home office
about severance package deals, etc. Ray says there isn't hardly any work to keep people busy. The work day lasts so long, if you're not busy!(Of course, there are a lot of people there that like it slow with hardly nothing to do. We call it "Siesta Attitude...nap time).

We've got a lot of things to do before we relocate to Boise.

Ron...so sorry to hear aboutyour friend being transferred. It sux. Are you going to start auditions for a guitar player after your vacation?

I'm still wearing the boot on my leg. I go back to the doc in 3 weeks for more Xrays.
He said that I can try wearing high tops...if it doesn't hurt.

Happy for you Tami! Ronnie and I have 2 more days to work. See everyone in Calif. We will be
there Monday afternoon. Geo, you also still on Monday? I know plans got changed for you having to go to San Diego first.

It's official!  Amber and Josh are getting married on thurs.  I am so happy for her.  She's come a long ways in a short time.

FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST!!!! THANK GOD ALMIGHTY I'M FREE AT LAST!!!

VAcation all I ever wanted... Vacation had it to get away

California here I come!

Ok, so I'm feeling bummed
I found out yesterday that a good friend of mine is moving to Japan. Eric, the guitarist in my band who's house we play at and who's PA equipment we use, has accepted a fab manager job at Micron Japan. On one hand I want to be happy for him it sounds exciting but on my selfish hand it is no doubt going to put a major crimp in the band thing. I mean, people were just getting to know about us we had 2 gigs scheduled and now it's all up in the air. And besides I like playing music with him we have a lot of fun. We have been building me a guitar and it's only 1/2 done it was going to be so cool. And to top it all off he had just left on vacation when we found out about the transfer so we can't even talk about it.
Ok I'm done, I just needed to vent.

Just another day
right click and save target as ... to download

We've gotten most of our packing done.  The computers were the last to go.  I have sporadic access via my laptop at work for the next month or so, and the only email I can check is george@marler.com.  Moving sucks.  We'll be clear of the house just in time for the reunion and I'll be hotelling it for a few weeks after we return.  Nettie will stay in Twin at her sisters while I bounce between Idaho Falls, Blackfoot, Twin Falls and Boise as I transition into the new job.  Netties pretty excited about it all.

Went out to Sam's and sang karoke tonight. I did a Bee Gees tune and My Girl from the temtations for my bride!

ROGERSVILLE, Tennessee (AP) -- The party's over for four inmates accused of going on a beer run after the jail's doors were accidentally left unlocked.
The men were charged Monday with escape and bringing alcohol into a jail.
The breakout occurred Thursday night after cellblock doors at the Hawkins County Jail were left unlocked and a faulty control panel failed to alert jailers, Sheriff Warren Rimer said.
Two of the inmates walked out through a fire exit, leaving the door propped open with a Bible, and made a hole in the exercise yard fence. They walked to a market, bought some beer and returned to the jail to share it with other prisoners. When the booze ran out, the other two inmates made another beer run to a different store.
Authorities believe the inmates bought more than two cases of beer in all.
"I guess they thought if they came back they wouldn't be charged with escape," Rimer said, "but they were wrong."
The store visits did not raise alarm because the inmates were wearing street clothes borrowed from other prisoners. The crowded jail does not have enough orange jumpsuits to go around.

This is a funny Starbucks commercial!!

Ron did the gig at the winery. He sounded awesome! A few thousand dollars were raise for Make a Wish. Not a big turnout but, I think it wasn't advertised enough. If everyone knew Ronnie was singing they would of come! :)    We donated money for a massage.  I can't wait to
cash in for it.  Missed you George and Nettie. Hope you feel better Nettie.

the blog looks different now.  Who changed it?  It's freaky cool.

Sorry to hear about your job Ray.....I hope you find a better one!

Friday, July 16, 2004

Oh Ray :(   That really sucks.  I hope you find something even better though.  Hopefully the severance package will be good.

I got some bad news from work yesterday. Eureka has announced they are laying off 800 personel from their El Paso and Juarez facilities. Yes, I got my papers yesterday. The layoff will be effective by the end of September. They haven't given us any real information on severance benefits as of yet, but will be doing so in the next week or so. They're moving the assembly to Mexico and china, the Plastics injection molding will be outsourced. Distribution and service will remain here, but so far there are no openings in either depts.

Anyone know Bill Clintons personal e-mail? I'd like to thank him for my upcoming opportunity to collect unemployment, and the loss of my medical insurance.

Two more weeks to FREEEDOOOOM!!!  (Rich and I are so outta here on the 30th)

Wednesday, July 14, 2004

Tami, Mom can get us discounted tickets for everything in Calif when we get there or if
you need them sooner before you go. We got tickets in March for Universal Studio and it
is almost half the price on the base. I sent her the money and she mailed them to me. We went the day before we saw them. I am sure she can get us some for Six Flags. We
just need to email her and ask how much and if she has the time. They also have Disneyland, Sea World. I will see if I have the site and send it to you.

ARRRRGGHGHHGHGHHH

I went to sixflags.com and did their print n go deal for one day tickets, thinking "oh cool, and I'll save $$ buying on line too if I buy before July 25." So I print my tickets and the tickets say "valid through July 25, 2004" and they are non refundable! I thought the deal meant to buy your tickets before the 25th, not that you have to use them by the 25th. NOT FAIR. It's not like there is an option to buy the tickets for a specific date or anything, or another button to buy the tickets not taking advantage of the limited time rate, and its too close to feel comfortable buying them at regular price and having them shipped. I've got a call in but the online ticket dept. is closed until tomorrow morning. I'm pist (and apparently out $50).

The "Dancing Baby" is back!!

Cute joke Tami!
Congrats on your quitting smoking. I like the stats thing. You can see you're saving money and gaining longevity!

Ron, email me at george@marler.com re: make a wish gig. I can't check any of my other email addy's from the GE intranet.

Sex after 50 years of marriage
An elderly couple is enjoying an anniversary dinner together in a
small tavern. The husband leans over and asks his wife, "Do you remember the first time we had sex together over fifty years ago? We went behind this tavern where you leaned against the fence and I made love to you."

"Yes," she says, "I remember it well." "OK," he says, "how about
taking a stroll round there again and we can do it for old time's sake?"

"Oooooooh Henry, you devil, that sounds like a good idea," she
answers.

There's a police officer sitting in the next booth listening to all
this, and having a chuckle to himself. He thinks, "I've got to see
these two old-timers having sex against a fence. I'll just keep an eye on them so there's no trouble." So he follows them. They walk haltingly along, leaning on each other for support, aided by walking sticks.

Finally they get to the back of the tavern a nd make their way to the fence. The old lady lifts her skirt, takes her knickers down and the old man drops his trousers. She turns around and as she hangs on to the fence, the old man moves in.

Suddenly they erupt into the most furious sex that the watching
policeman has ever seen. They are bucking and jumping like
eighteen-year-olds. This goes on for about forty minutes! She's
yelling, "Ohhh, God!" He's hanging on to her hips for dear life. This is the most athletic sex imaginable. Finally, they both collapse panting on the ground. The policeman is amazed. He thinks he has learned something about life that he didn't
know.

After about half an hour of lying on the ground recovering, the old
couple struggle to their feet and put their clothes back on. The
policeman, still watching thinks, 'that was truly amazing, he was going like a train. I've got to ask him what his secret is.'

As the couple passes, he says to them, "That was something else! You must have been having sex for about forty minutes. How do you manage it? You must have had a fantastic life together. Is there some sort of secret?"

The old man says, "Fifty years ago that wasn't an electric fence."

Funneeeee.....Mel!
Ray called the company that puts out the StopSign anti-virus
software and they were very adament that their software doesn't
have a Trojan embedded in it.
Ray ended up hanging up on the tech!!
I was glad to find a site that offered instructions on how to uninstall it.

Friday, July 09, 2004

Cathy - Soooooooooo we shouldn't download it. ahahhhaaahhhaaa

Isn't Trojan a form OF protection??!!

this is an audio post - click to play

I saw a commercial for an anti virus program called StopSign.
It was "supposedly" FREE...so, I went to StopSign.com and installed it.
It found a Trojan and a bunch of infected spyware.
(It took 4 hours for this scan!!)

When you try to quarantine the Trojan; it takes you to a page to buy the
program. So, I ran my AVG anti virus program. It didn't detect the Trojan.
I tried the online "Housecall" virus scanner and it didn't detect it either.

from the microsoft.public.security.virus newsgroup
"Never even occured to me that a
website to help you get rid of crap on your computer would put more crap on
your computer...lol."

Ray's gonna have to do some registry editing and booting into DOS to delete files.

Don't do what I did!

Thursday, July 08, 2004

Tami - maybe it is a lack of stress that is getting to you. Maybe you are so used to frantic stress that being calm has freaked your body out.

Such a CUTE baby!! He is adorable!!

Went to the doctor yesterday to discuss lab results. There is nothing wrong with me medically. Everything tested "normal" (including PAP and cholesterol. Yay me!) She figures my problems are stress related and suggested I take up some kind of meditation or something. I don't actually feel all that stressed out to be honest. Life is good right now. In fact, most of the time if I was any more calm I'd be dead. She gave me a lollipop for quitting smoking (16 days today on the patch).

that's pretty damn cool, Ron. You're such a web geek.

Daelan is darling! Aaaaawwwwwwwww.

That's a lotta catfish!

FISH STORY FROM WICHITA EAGLE NEWSPAPER

This was a pretty interesting story from The Sunday Wichita Eagle Newspaper
a couple of weeks ago. This was in a housing development around 119th
Street S and Maple. Anyhow a resident in the area saw a ball bouncing around
kind of strange like in the developments pond and when he went to
investigate, it was a flathead catfish who had obviously tried to swallow a
child's basketball which became stuck in its mouth.

The fish was totally exhausted from trying to dive but unable to because
The ball would always bring him back up to the surface. The resident tried
numerous times to get the ball out but was unsuccessful.

He finally had his wife cut the ball in order to deflate the ball and
release the catfish.

Congrats on all the babies! Daelan & Payton are such wonderful names! As for grandparenting - better you than me. LOL!

(Send me all the pertinents so I can add 'em to my genealogy file. OK? Full name, birth place, parent names, grandparent names, wedding dates if applicable, that sort of thing.)

Geo, Congrats on your grandkids! Way to propogate them genes!
Here is the events page for the Make-A-Wish gig how many are you going to be? So I can try to get you on the guest list.

I always thought it would have been way cool to have been born on the 4th of July. Think they'll call him Yankee Doodle?

Who would have thought 2 grandbaby boys in 2 days

We're grandparents....times 2 now. Netties son Jesse and his gal Ember had a 7 pound 3 ounce boy this evening at 8:12. Moms doing fine, baby (Payton) had some minor respiratory issues so they are watching him in the nicu for the night. He'll be fine. Born on the 4th of july....Hoooooah!

George,
Seriously the Dallas cowboys are having a three week training camp in Oxnard and will be there while we are there.

Everybody else DeeAnna and I are NOT cowboy fans we root for real teams.

Wonderful news George! We are very happy for you all! Amber, George and Jeannette. I bet he has the same hairdo as you Geo.
Frank, you can look at as many girls as DeeAnna would let you when you go to California! And you can golf also! Just don't expect Ronnie and I to go because we don't like the game! :)

Congrats to gramps George and granny Jeanette. Also to Amber and what's his name.

Someone needs to tell Curt to quit whining about the lack of diving on the Itinerary. At least it is on the itinereray. I don't see any golf or even a visit to the Denver Broncos cheerleaders training camp.

Happy 4th of July!!

This is a cute fireworks display site.

I misspelled his name, it's Daelan.

Daelan,; Male, English, Rhyming variant of Waylon - a historical blacksmith with supernatural powers.

Cath, baby boys that size run in our family ;) Ed was 8lb 1oz and Ian was 8lb 9oz

I can't view the blog, btw... only this editing part :(

Happy Anniversary, Le! Congrats, George!

Congratulations Grampa George and Gramma Jeannette!!

Amber sure had a big baby boy! Was it a natural delivery or a C-sec?
I'm glad they are both doing fine.

Tami....I did a search on the name "Daelen" and there was one on Star Trek and
a character called that in Advanced Dungeons & Dragons.

I think it's a good name!

Congratulations, Grandpa :) Give our love to Amber. Daelen is a boy's name, right?

I'm a grampa. Daelen was born at about 3 am. He weighed in at 8 pounds 13 oz. Amber is tired but doing well. Baby is fine.

It's a done deal. I have accepted the transfer to Twin Falls. It's an internal transfer within GE and I'll be working exclusively with Imaging equipment again. Nettie is beside herself with excitement. I won't start the new job until after the reunion, and I'll be jumping between training in Milwaukee and my regular job in Idaho falls until then.

Nothing new from Amber. The wait is killing me, but it's got to be a real pain to her.

I saw my ortho doc yesterday and they took new Xrays.
He said my fibula is aligned right...but, the break
is still there.
He was surprised at the amount of bruising that I have on my other leg.
I fell onto a concrete walkway...luckily, I didn't break my left leg or knee; but
my knee is sore and I'll need physical therapy for that...later.

I have to go see him in 3 weeks. He said I can take the boot off when I'm resting.
No more ice packs; unless my ankle starts hurting.
I still can't drive!! Hopefully, I'll graduate to the "shoe". I don't know
what that looks like or if it's flexible. I don't know if the "shoe" will allow me to drive.

Doc says 6-8 weeks....the break should be healed.

Happy Belated Anniversary Leisl & Brian!!

Leisl....Congrats on being "Miss July"
I like the picture of you with purple lipstick....that's hot!!
