Woke up, Got out of bed, Drag a comb across my head.
Let's all do a day in a life!
I'll start.....
A Day in a Life. Ronnie Sun May 17th
Woke up just before 10:00AM and jumped in the shower.
I'm excited about today, Tim and I are playing a wedding reception for a family friend. It's poolside at an estate in Eagle. And it's going to be a hot sunny day.
Step out of the shower to the phone ringing. It's my wonderfull wife she's been up since god knows when and has already gone to the gym and is on her way home from buying groceries and wanted to know if I wanted a Starbucks? September and me started loading the sound equipment into the garage from the studio so that it's ready to go when Tim gets here. meanwhile Jeannette is putting away the groceries. I find out later that I should have helped her with that (DOH).
Lay down on the window seat in the living room. It's quiet except for the sound of the fountain in the front yard. It's peacefull and I admire how green everything is.
Timmy shows up and we load the gear and we're ready to go. We run down the street to Trish's and sit on her patio and discuss the food arangements for our up coming Lake Wallowa camping trip. looks like we're haveing a prime rib. Don has a pellet stove and he is going to do the slow cook/ smoke thing, It's going to be good.
Off to the show now. It's hot on the drive down and it's a preview of what's to come. They set us up with our backs to the pool facing the grass and driveway. but as people show up it's obviious that the party is going to happen under the awning behind us where the misters are by the pool so we do an about face. The party is fun and people seem to be into what we are doing. We know allot of the people there some from work and some through friends. Tim and Me get offers for at least 3 more shows. Party is breaking up so we pack up and hit the road. The heat and beer has taken it's tole and I'm ready to call it a day. Move all the gear for the 4rd and last time today, this time back into the cave. I'll have to hook it all back up but that can wait till tomorrow. Right now it's time to hit the couch and veg out on Survivor and law and order. 10:00 and off to bed. it's hot so I sleep with the window open and the covers pushed to the end of the bed. Life is good

Sunday morning: Woke at 6:00 - took a leak - back to bed. Up at 9:00 and "zombied" my way to the front deck where my coffee was perked and waiting for me. Zoned out until about ll:00 then moved my activities inside where I watched the TV and played with the computer for a couple hours. Did "stuff" out in my shed until Lakers/Rockets game. Watched the Lakers hold clinic on the Rockets. Made me happy. Watched some more TV and finally drug myself to bed. All in all, a pretty wasted day.
Sunday May 17th.
Woke up before the alarm at 5:30. Started coffee and walked the dogs. Packed the fishing gear into the truck and was on the road at 6:00.
6:05 return home to get my thermos full of Joe. Good thing too as my wading boots were right next to the thermos.
7:00 arrive at the Platte river about 10 miles below Deckers. Water is a little off color but clear. Tied on a #18 stonefly nymph and started wading. After less than a dozen casts I had a bruiser hit my line and run. He stripped out a few yards of line and snapped the leader. I never even got a peek at him. I tied on some tippet and another stonefly and fished to the end of the run without another strike.
9:00 headed upriver to the store and hit a few likely pools on the way.
10:30 donuts at Deckers store and a spool of 4# tippet
11:00 back on the river, this time with sturdier line. No more hits on the stonefly and a caddis hatch was full on. Switched over to a caddis midge emerger and had my hands full for the next 2 hours.
~~2:00
Decided to go back to the hole where I hooked the brute earlier and switched to a bead headed golden stonefly. Halfway through the run my rod doubled over as my line cut a path upstream. I knew I had a nice one but still hadn't gotten a look, just of flash of gold. It wasn't breaking the surface and was putting up a hell of a fight. After a couple minutes I see him roll and realize it's a hefty brown. We were both pretty whipped by now and I lightly towed him in. My rod is marked at 16 inches and he was well over that (19-21 inches is my guess). I held him facing the current for a few seconds and he squirted out of my hands and back into the channel.
4:00 headed home with a grin and a sunburn.
5:30 got home, scarfed a sandwich and laid on the couch for some TV.
4:45 AM Woke up to the TV blaring with a stick in my mouth and a sunburn headache.
Monday evening - 10:13: Came to my computer to check WOOT but decided to log on to granny's kids blog. Read George's fishing adventure story and sat back dreaming that it was me fighting the big brown. Maybe someday.
Monday
7AM crawl into bed after my 12 hr shift.
1PM time to get up. check my phone for messages. 1 call.
130 run up the road to look at a rental. 1 bed 1 bath duplex.filled out app.
2 head over to my boat and tinker with the motor. Can I breathe life into a 50 year old outboard? hook the cables to my truck....... she turns over.......she has spark! looks like I didn't get hosed on the motor after all. decided to repair the fuel line tomorrow and see if the old girl's still got some life in her.
3PM over to the boat. Not much left to do here, screw holes are filled. (who puts hooks upside down on the outer hull of a boat anyways....and why)....running out of time for the day.
3:30 head back to Joes for a quick shower.
4:00 grab some lunch @ McD's and head to work
4:45 time to make the donuts....clock in for another grueling 12 hours of punching out 2 troy oz rounds for the Canadian mint. 2 more days and my work week is over.......Cmon Thursday!
Oh, Fun! I'll do yesterday
Tuesday
5:00 wake up with Tracey, put coffee on, leash the dogs and take them for a walk and call it an exercise routine even though we stop walking every 5 seconds so the dogs can sniff the whole friggin WORLD and Tracey can untangle the Eskie's leashes.
5:30 home and 1st cup of coffee, thinking walk would be more enjoyable if the coffee came first.
5:30 - 7:00 dawdle, putter, check weather forecast, finish most of the coffee in the pot
7:00 shower, iron clothes, make up, hair, wake Ian
7:30 commute with Ian. Wonder when his last shower was.
8:00 check messages left overnight from Judge Franco. Consider mentioning that it's healthier to leave work when she leaves work.
8:15 check emails left overnight from Judge Franco. Reply primarily with "I did that already, it's in your inbox".
8:25 Text messages from Judge Franco (while she's driving, I'm sure) calling me "Radar"
8:30 - 12:00 Left almost entirely alone to work on stats, make pretty pie charts, arrange meetings, generally save the world etc.
12:00 - 1:00 Lunch, only not really because the judges are off the bench and everybody wants something.
1:00 - 2:00 Supervise Ian's Algebra re-test. Scan and email to Ed for a check of the answers before sending it off.
2:30 Ian will pass, barely ... and graduate!!!
2:31 Worry about Ian being ready to leave home.
2:33 Become over-excited about the imminent departure of my youngest child.
2:35 Berate myself for being joyous at potential empty-nestedness.
2:37 - 4:00 repeat 2:31, 2:33, and 2:35
4:15 Notice all the judges, clerks and bailiffs have left the building early.
4:20 Leave work, pick up Ian from library, go home.
4:45 Dogs out of crates and to the backyard. Annoyed Mozart won't go outside without me. Doesn't he have to Pee for chrissakes??
5:00 - 6:00 Farmtown on Facebook. Tracey home at 6:00
6:00 - 7:00 Get Ian to mow the grass while I weed/water the garden and Tracey makes dinner (her week to be the wife)
7:00 American Idol. I heart Adam Lambert! Kara needs to go away, her song sucked. America will probably vote for cute but vanilla Kris but Adam will still be a superstar.
9:00 Fight dogs for bed space
Woke up. Prevacid & coffee. Kissed everybody goodbye. Ate bon bons & drank martinis. Kissed everybody hello. Dinner. Wine. Bed.
(Bon bons & martinis really means cleaned house, did 5 loads laundry, grocery shopping, physical therapy, writing, convincing youngest she doesn't either have swine flu, fixing dinner, occasional weeding, making/baking little heads, phone calls, etc)
mmmm bonbons and martinis yum
