So, when your kid asks if they can stay overnight "with" their friend, who used to have an address, it's a good idea to verify that said friend still has an actual address. Living in abandoned warehouses is illegal.

Cop call - Ian was staying overnight with his (older) friend, who used to have an apartment but now lives in an abandoned warehouse.

At least I know now that none of the guys he hangs out with have records or are addicts or anything - the cop ran them all and they all came out clean. They're just homeless. I told him I don't care if he's friends with them but he can't "stay over" anymore. Duh.

In other news ... I'm on probation (gasp) I got a speeding ticket and appeared in court today (yes, the court where I work) and pled guilty, asked for a suspended sentence with probation and got it. (I had to wait for a day when our substitute judge was working b/c "my" judges would have to recuse) So long as I don't get another ticket for a year(I rarely get tickets - 3 in my life) this incident stays off my record and I don't have to pay the $130. My insurance company never needs to know about it.
