GE has expanded the employee product purchase program to include employees and their extended families. You can get a pretty decent discount, if you're looking for top end appliances. This applies only to GE branded large appliances (refrigerators, washers, BBQ's, Ac units etc).

If anyones interested, let me know and I'll get you access to the website.

I'm supposed to make you aware that pricing info is not supposed to be shared with the public (blah blah blah).

I dug up everything I need except that I need Frank & Ray's birthdays and I need Frank, Ray & George's mailing addresses please.

I'm probably going to lose my job over this security clearance anyway because of debt :-/ The stupid part is that Unka Sam doesn't actually require secret clearance for my position. It's my contractor employer that wants to get all of their employees secret clearance "just in case". I resent having to provide so much information for an unnecessary investigation.

The happy news in my life is that we're mostly moved in now. Also, my realtor says I will likely pull a nice profit from my house. Enough to pay off my credit card debt... which might save my job? I don't know how I get in these money messes.

Andrea got a temp job at Idaho Power and interviews tomorrow for a permanent gig there. Keep your fingers crossed. She's really enjoying the people she works with there and the permanent job would be in the same department.

This Friday we're going to Washington. I'm going to spend some time with the boys and then leave Alek with her dad until Tuesday while A and I go to Graham, OR for a dog show/mini-vacation. I'm really looking forward to a little vacation time.

I'm still not smoking. Tomorrow is 2 weeks. I'm a bitch and I'm tired.

That's all my news. I've got a new phone # which I'll email out.

CAthy - is your face feeling any better?
Mel - any news on the kiddo?
Le - still mute?

Found a cool site eyespot.com

Yo Adrian!
Tonight hasn't been my best...I tripped outside and head butted some car's bumper.
I had my cell phone handy and called Ray and he immediately took me to St. Lukes ER.
After 4 hours of waiting and cat scans of my head, face, neck and xrays of my left knee, hip and neck...I was sent home.
NO FRACTURES! Ray and I were afraid I had fractured the bones in my eye socket.
Whew! I am just badly bruised...damn that platelet dysfunction of mine!
As soon as I am able...I am getting rid of all my purple eyeshadow! It is not my best colour!
(I posted a pic on the Photog...It ain't pretty!)

Z might be coming home soon. His dad has been acting nervous and is seriously considering sending him back to the good ole USA. He's been gone way too long. I'd go into more details but until he is safe here with his mom, don't wanna jinx it. Just pray he gets back here safely and soon. Fingers crossed.

DOJ wants to dig a little deeper.

Help me keep my job by:

1. Giving me all your birthdays/current addresses (including all you sis-in-laws. seriously)
2. If anyone knows Bob's, Robbie's, Joey's birthdays/Addresses I need those too
3. If anyone knows where Lorin might be these days, or can remember what his birthday was, apparently I was supposed to stay in close contact with ex-husbands or something. (Tidbit - googled Greg and he wrote a book and is working as some kind of corporate motivational speaker dude)

Mel & Le, Homeland Security doesn't care about you yet, but I'd still watch my step if I was you. haha.

Back in January when I was doing Lucky Stiff, I felt my voice "pop" in the middle one of my big songs a week before we opened. I thought I had strained it - was terrified that I'd torn it - but are ya gonna do? The show must go on. So I went on. I kept hoping it would get better on its own, but no such luck.

I saw a throat doctor today. No cancer, no nodules, no tears. That's good. Unfortunately, I have some pretty severe damage from the GERD, my vocal chords don't close, there's a LOT of varicosity & swelling & some hemorrhaging. It's pretty serious. I'm grounded from singing anything at all - not even Tylar's lullaby - and I'm not supposed to talk if I can help it (me! not talk! shyah!). I am not allowed to audition for anything & he's not at all happy that I'm in the middle of a play right now & especially that I'm doing the show without amplification. He said it's going to be a long time until things heal enough that I can start working on trying to get my voice back. I could be out of commission for years.

Sucks.

I talked to Ian yesterday - I didn't have his full attention because he was busy playing video games. He went to school today, its the last week and he didn't want to miss any parties. I asked him how he felt and he said, "the neck brace is kind of cool, but my throat is scratchy where they stuck the tube down." Ed said Ian thinks the whole "hit by a car and lived" thing will probably be a chick magnet. So, I'm guessing he 1) isn't hurting all that bad and 2) wasn't nearly as traumatized as the adults were by the whole episode. It's also further proof that yes, his head really is THAT hard.

I still say I'm getting George's paybacks for some reason.

Happy Father's Day!!

Saturday, June 17, 2006

Before I say what happened - He's fine. No broken bones, CAT scan was good, He's back at Kirk's house - bruised and a little battered.

Yesterday Ian was hit by a car. His friend's mom dropped him off across from the apartments and he got hit crossing the street. He spent last night at Harborview and he's back home now. That's really all I know. He's in a neck brace (precautionary) and will go back for a check up in 2 weeks. I'll let you know more about the accident when I know more.

Put down your sandwich...here comes the joke!

As ham sandwiches go, it was perfection. A thick slab of ham, a fresh bun,
crisp lettuce and plenty of expensive, light brown, gourmet mustard. The
corners of my jaw aching in anticipation, I carried it to the picnic table
in our backyard, picked it up with both hands but was stopped by my wife
suddenly at my side.

"Hold Johnny (our six-week-old son) while I get my sandwich," she said.

I had him balanced between my left elbow and shoulder and was reaching again
for the ham sandwich when I noticed a streak of mustard on my fingers. I
love mustard. I had no napkin. I licked it off. It was not mustard. No man
ever put a baby down faster. It was the first and only time I have sprinted
with my tongue protruding. With a washcloth in each hand I did the sort of
routine shoeshine boys do, only I did it on my tongue. Later
(after she stopped crying from laughing so hard) my wife said, "Now you know
why they call that mustard 'Poupon.'"

Just a tad bit overdue.....but it still made me chuckle.

Mayonnaise
Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellmann's mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York.

This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico. But as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank, and the cargo was forever lost.

The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day.

The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and is known, of course, as Sinko de Mayo.

Somebody going to post that family picture? Please?

Did you know ----

Smoking a cigarette is freebasing nicotine? One of the additives used in manufacturing cigarettes is Ammonia - which detaches the hydrogen atoms from the nicotine, allowing the nicotine to reach the brain more quickly. This is called freebasing. I've been a freebasing junkie and didn't even know it. I've switched to American Spirit brand, which has NO additives as Step 1 in my "let's try this one more time" attempt. I'm attending a 5 day seminar at the American Cancer Society. It's free to me, paid for by the tobacco settlement. I kind of like that irony.
