It's called a contact printer. It's used for printing from large format photo negatives (5" X 7").it's a light box that shines red light when it's open and white light when closed you put the negative and photo paper in it and when you close it it exposes the paper through the negative and you get a print. I thinkit's from the late 1800s I got it at the auction for $00.50 :)
