My turn to ask for prayers. Maureen's, my boss/friend, husband was killed in an auto accident yesterday. I have known them both for about 16-17 years. He was the dad of 4, grandpa of 1. Their youngest kids are 8 & 6 years old, which makes it doubly sad. Mark's Sebring convertible was no match for a semi tractor trailer. Please say a prayer for their family as this is a very tough time for them. It was a total shock to all of us who knew him. Mark was the guy that you thought would live forever. He will be missed by his family, friends and anyone who ever came in contact with him. I know I will miss that goofy guy.

Skinny on George: This AM he had a cardiac cath which progressed to angioplasti and placement of a stenth (Maybe two - not sure). Doing well from that and should go home tomorrow (Friday). Better news is that his MRI/ct on his suspected brain aneurism turned out to be negative. Now they have to figure out what the pain/dizzy/memory loss is all about. Other than a migraine, Nettie is coming down off the ceiling. Frightening time for her.

I think this might be a test. Didn't know I could post now.

Geo - do you not understand dibs?? Seriously, good vibes to you.

Good news for me -- blood work is normal. My arms are less numb and tingly. My face still gets numb. No idea why. I think I get referred to neurology next.

Let's have our chat again! Same time...same place? We can rally around for George...put our collective energies together for him? I'll be praying and wishing good thoughts anyways...let us know Ron (the chatmeister!)

Went to my cardio appt today. We've scheduled a heart cath for thurs morning. My new doc is aware of the complications during my last cath, so hopefully things will go smoother.

They also wanted to do a head CT, so I had that done this afternoon. The doc thinks I may have a brain aneurysm. I need to have a repeat CT tomorrow morning to rule this out. If it's positive, we'll have to see how severe it is to decide on a treatment. This probably explains my sudden headaches and memory loss.

Jeanette is shitting bricks, so any positive thoughts or prayers you can send her way would be appreciated.

Okay, so I have dibs on the current weird physical issue. I am having random numbness and tingling in my face and arms. I went to the doctor today (I promised the ex that I would go). The doc is not sure what it is yet but they started with taking 5 or 6 vials of blood to test for nutritional diffeciencies, diabetes, etc. It may be something simple like stress or a variety of other things. Once the blood work comes back we'll see what we do next. Talking to Dale, his opinion is that if it is not stress or a deficiency that there is a nerve issue. This is kinda his specialty so I value his input. Plus my cute doctor agrees. If the blood work shows nothing and I am still having problems next week, I may get to go back to the neurologist. Personally I am hoping for a calcium deficiency so I have an excuse to drink more milk. heh heh

Indy learned the 'down' command. She occasionaly confuses it with off and sit but hey, it gets her not to jump on me and it is so cute when she lays down and looks up at me all sweet. hee hee

On another note.... Le you may want to stop reading now.
Dale is in Richmond to check out a job offer. He has already been offered the job but is checking out the program. He would be a junior faculty member for a year and then do a year fellowship. They don't have a fellowship position open until next year but really want him to do his fellowship there. So - for a year he will be an attending (making the bucks) and then do a year as a fellow (not much bucks) and then he will go out into the "real world" to work. We'll know tomorrow if he signs on the contract dotted line.

Age Gauge

This will really make you feel old...or young.... Put your
birth date in the pop up window after you click on the
below link. What happens is pretty interesting. It's also
amazing how quickly it computes!! Very cool.
