Gawd he's funny

lookin

Utah Jazz....is that a band? I like Jazz.

Tuesday, March 30, 2004

Oh yes. The water was back on when we got home from soccer practice.

And speaking of soccer practice ... Guess who stopped by? Go on! Guess!
THURL BAILEY, formerly of the Utah Jazz!
He just happened to be at the gym working out yesterday. As he was leaving, he spotted the boys outside practicing & came over to say hi & give them a little rah-rah pep talk - practice lots, listen to your coach, have fun. It was just so cool of him. Yay!

Yeppers George....you're right!

Leisl, did you get your water back on yet?

Monday, March 29, 2004

I love being a guy. The world is my urinal.

Bummer Leisl....I know what you mean about going without.
In our case it's the electricity.During lightning/thunderstorms.
That's when you think about how many things you need
electricity for.
In your case, put a big sign up saying
Do Not Flush!!
It's times like this I guess an outhouse in the backyard would be
a Godsend!! LOL!

WE HAVE NO WATER!!!
The country broke the water main on our street so they had to shut off the water in our neighborhood. They said they think ... THINK ... they might have it fixed tonight. Ugh! No water, and I have to pee. This sucks.

Not us ... no money.

We're planning on it. Might not be able to bring the kids, but are going to try. Need info on where to stay.

Sunday, March 28, 2004

I and prolly DeeAnna are goin

Please. I need info on sleeping arrangements.

Saturday, March 27, 2004

Nettie and I are going. Wouldn't miss it.

Slugs ... eeeeewwwww.

Hey, we made it back from the parents house. We had lots of good talks and went to good places to eat. Stacy is in love
with Bianca Sandy's great niece! Now she wants to have a baby. Ugh! By the way they are looking great and doing well.
They are hoping to come to Idaho in May for Dusty and September's graduation party. May 22nd. Everyone is invited! And
with fishing opening the next weekend maybe they will come.
We have more news on sleeping arrangements. Let me know if you want to know. Who is all going? Repeating Frank's question. It is suppose to be on Aug 6, 7, and 8.
The parents are looking forward to it. Everyone who hasn't been there will love it and enjoy seeing their place. Sandy and
I have have talked about getting the clubhouse for a place to meet. It has lots of room.

Hey guys. Who is going to california this August and when are we meeting there?

WooHoo! That's great Frank!

Hey Tami....still wondering about that pig....here's
an interesting website that shows the mating ritual of the Leopard Slug.
The slugs are hermaphrodites, btw and their "organs" come out of
the side of their heads!

Friday, March 26, 2004

ALL RIGHT BRO!!!
Congrats :)

Yay, Frank!!!

Damn...thats sweeeeeet.

Finally the Diploma is MINE.

Scout-o-rama is a gathering of all scouts from the entire district to showcase their scouting skills to the public. There are typically games, pioneering displays, food, activities etc etc for the whole family. Loads of fun.

I dunno. It's sort of big deal scout thing. All day hoopla full of activities. And he'll earn a patch for selling tickets.

what is a scout-o-rama, ding dong?

Scout-o-rama tickets are tickets to the Scout-o-rama. :-P

what are scout-o-rama tickets?

and now for things you didn't know you didn't know

A pig's orgasm lasts 30 minutes.
(In my next life, I want to be a pig.)

A cockroach will live nine days without its head before it starves
to death. (Creepy.)
(I'm still not over the pig.)

Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour.
(Do not try this at home...... maybe at work.)

The male praying mantis cannot copulate while its head is attached to its body. The female initiates sex by ripping the male's head off.
("Honey, I'm home. What the....?!")

The flea can jump 350 times its body length. It's like a human
jumping the length of a football field.
(30 minutes... lucky pig... can you imagine??)

The catfish has over 27,000 taste buds.
(What could be so tasty on the bottom of a pond?)

Some lions mate over 50 times a day.
(I still want to be a pig in my next life...quality over quantity)

Butterflies taste with their feet.
(Something I always wanted to know.)

The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue.
(Hmmmmmm........)

Polar bears are left-handed.
(If they switch, they'll live a lot longer.)

Humans and dolphins are the only species that have sex for
pleasure.
(What about that pig??)

btw - Coda is selling is Scout-o-rama tickets for $5/each if anybody wants to buy some.

It's raining!
It's pouring!
The old man is snoring!
Went to bed & Bumped his head
And couldn't get up in the morning.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...................................

I took care of sick people. Yuck.

Sunday, March 21, 2004

I did some work around the yard and toiled over blueprints the rest of the weekend. Seems all I can think about is flying lately.

Tami - I volunteer for the agency that I adopted my cats from. I go in one or two Sundays a month for a few hours at Petco. We didn't get any adopted out today. We turn down more than we adopt out to. We always want to make sure that they are going to a family that will treat them right and take care of them.

I got my garden planted today. I did 6 yellow cherry tomato plants and 6 bell pepper plants. I also planted 2 basil plants and some cacti in pots. I love spring time.

Just about got the pond finished for this year. went fishing and golfing. caught 10 bass shot 104. Overall really enjoyed the weekend. now I am bushed.
Oh yeah also wrote a 10 page paper for Situational leadership class and prepared a power point presentation for the same. Get my new laptop on tuesday.

are you volunteering at a shelter or something, Mel?

Jeanette, congrats on the job :)

I love this time of year. I don't have to turn on the airconditioning or heater. It is so beautiful. I love spring!
I am going to play with kittens today. I hope we get a lot of adoptions done today.

Happy Brithday Sandy We love and miss you lots send us a picture :)

Well afer 4 years of taking a vacation ......I have joined the working force .
not sure how I like the job until after the blisters on my feet heal :(
but I get to see George on his job every other day as we are working at the same hospital, of course my job is not as glamorous as his. I get to mop and sweep floors and all that good stuff lol But George likes the idea that Iam getting out of the house and making new friends cant go wrong there :)

Tell Sandy Happy Birthday!
Le - Hope everyone gets better soon.
It is still in the 80's here. I am loving it. I bought skates this weekend. I am looking forward to skating aroung the neighborhood. My house is clean, I just had BBQ, I am happy happy.

Johnny Depp! *swoon*

george, she got a msg from you, and rays too :)

She's 14 today and is having a party. She's borrowed a strobe light from a friend and hung black streamers and silver spirals from the ceiling in the basement. They are going to see the new Johnny Depp movie after pizza and cake and coming back here (minus the one boy invited) after the movies for a sleep over (not much sleeping expected to be done) It's going to be fun. (for her)

heh...mine says "Your message is on the way" Hope she gets it
How OLD is she now?

sposed to be upper 80s today!!

Tylar is better. Now Coda & Brian are sick. Ugh!

I tried...but it said I couldn't send to her network :(

Sandy's Cell #is 908-397-5181 if you want to text her Happy Birthday. (It costs her 25c a minute (for the 1st 10 min/day) to talk, but incoming SMS is free).

Finally its a nice day around here, btw. Snow is all melted almost :) Yippeeeee

Friday, March 19, 2004

:( you guys are so mean

With temps in the mid 60's and a sunny windfree forcast for the weekend....I'm in a quandry. Should I go fishing, golfing, or geocaching?

72F here today.

Tylar's fever seems to be gone! Yay! Poor little thing started throwing up Wednesday night. All night. So we didn't get any sleep at all. (I had to sight read Sondheim with no sleep. BWAhahahahaha.) She didn't leave the couch all day yesterday. But she did sleep last night & seems to be doing a lot better this morning. Cross your fingers we're past whatever this was.

schools are closed today :: sigh :: Wonder if I can stay home too

Thursday, March 18, 2004

dang....it's almost time to start up the evap cooler.

got Sandy a pre-paid cell phone for her birthday. She's gonna freak OUT! I'll give you all her phone number when we activitate it and you can SMS her. (incoming SMS is free, outgoing costs her) Even if you don't have a cell phone, you can SMS her from virginmobileusa.com. Cool, huh? Ahhhh now I can bug her when she's at the mall with her 'peeps'.

go away.

snowed again last night, couple inches. More overnight tonight expected and they figure 5 or 6 inches for Friday.

Wednesday, March 17, 2004

I have crocus blooming! And my snowdrops. And my dwarf iris & dwarf daffodils. Yay! Spring!

I hate you all booo hoooooo more snow expected later today.... and tomorrow .... and friday. On the bright side, they don't expect tons of accumulation at once. A couple inches yesterday, one or two today, etcetera etcetera etcetera.

Tuesday, March 16, 2004

We are setting records for weather here. We are hitting all time...... highs!! 85 today, possibly 87 or more tomorrow. It is supposed to rain next week though. We are in our first spring/summer. Then rain and cold. Then summer for good. Oh, how I love California.

Yep, Life is good!!
The forecast is 80 degree weather for the next 7 days.
(I'd rather have it cold...hot chocolate tastes much better then!!

We're kinda in the stage where we start thinking; "It's time
to turn off the furnace and put the a/c on."

And then if we do....we'll get hit with some real cold weather!
Our last freeze date is April 15th here....I was here when it snowed on April 7, 1983.

Our weather is so weird!

And on the 76th day, the clouds parted and the sun shone through. As the birds began to sing, I realized I had reason to proclaim...Life is Good!

All the way to 55 degrees baby!!!

its snowing. kind of a lot :(

Baby, its cold outside ... Waaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh

I've got a fab sugar free cheesecake recipe too if you want.

Monday, March 15, 2004

That sounds more like what I like Tami! I will try the recipe. Ron and I love to eat nuts. Thanks for the recipe. Ron is
hooked on sugar free jello and I am hooked on sugar free pudding now.

Happy Birthday DeeAnna!!
I've been 48 for ten days now and it
doesn't feel any different..

yeah, wait until you've been doing Atkins for 9 months. Betcha think they're not half bad then! LOL Nah, Rich doesn't like them either. The spicey pork rinds are good though. I've been making cinnamon pecans. Take a BIG bag of shelled pecans (like 4 cups), mix with 2 frothed egg whites, 1 cup of splenda (the boxed kind that measures like sugar), 2 TBSP of cinnamon and 1/2 tsp of salt mix it all together so the pecans are totally coated and bake spread out on a cookie sheet at 350 for half hour or so (until the nuts are crispy but not burned), stirring it around half way through. Very yummy sweet snack.

I don't know if I posted this URL for low carb info--

Just in case--I'm posting again!

Tami...lots of people are getting rid of land lines. If you
get the internet on cable....and you have free long distance
included in your cell phone plan....why pay for another
phone line? (We still have a land line as a back-up!)

Sunday, March 14, 2004

Tami, we decided you don't have taste in chips! :) Those Adkins Crunchers were nasty! Ronnie has been eating
spicey pork rinds. I have been stealing a few chips from Dusty's bag when I get the urge to eat chips. Nothing like
the real thing. But, thanks anyway for the idea.

Friday, March 12, 2004

Wait a minute! What am I saying I was one of those once.

We will have to try real hard to live without the wit and tenacity of that particular class of low lifes Tami.

that's so... so... modern! what about telemarketers... won't you miss them?

Thursday, March 11, 2004

BTW Everyone. We have taken the plunge and gotten rid of the land line if you want to call us use our Cell #'s. Mine is 316-393-3789 and DeeAnna's is 316-214-1760.

Ones with water in them.

heheheh

For Mel
No more old egg jokes, I guess. You can just make new ones. ;-)

Oh yeah ... I talked the music director of Into the Woods into letting me join the ensemble even tho' I missed auditions & 4 weeks of rehearsals. I start tonight. The show opens next week. Yay, me!

Vito is MY produce man ... and he's already married ... but he IS Italian, so I guess he's still date-able. ;-)

Tuesday, March 09, 2004

They are predicting temps around 80 tomorrow. That means I'll be
turning on more of the ceiling fans and opening windows! On Thursday and Friday the temps will be in the low to mid 50s.
(A cold front is going to be blowing thru!)

Welcome home Richard! I bet you had a long flight.

Hey Mel--is Vito single? Is he husband material?

I don't have any crocus plants, but my Mexican Heather plant has just started to show new growth.
It has the tiniest purple flowers on it! They go well with my purple Lantana.
The weeds and the Johnson grass are coming along better than the other plants!

What kind of ponds are you doing Frank?

good idea Ray :p pffftttt

Monday, March 08, 2004

70 here today I even got to play golf with a mild 65 yesterday. upper 50's to lower 60's all this week. They think we might have some severe thunderstorms on saturday. I get to start on the ponds this weekend.

Today was the nicest day we've had since Fall. Mostly sunny all day, got up to 42. The only snow we have left are huge frozen dirty piles scattered around town, they'll still be there in april.

I think I'll just shut up so as not to get lynched :)

That sucks, Tam.
We get to have 50s all week. :-)

It was gorgeous here yesterday, t-shirt weather. Out in the yard all day planning a garden. this morning its snowing. Hard. :(

Sunday, March 07, 2004

50 degrees here today ... sunny ... nice. And my grocer's produce man is named Vito. He's 1st-generation Italian-American. He's half Sicilian, half Florentine.

What a beautiful day. it's 70 out there. did a couple of geocaches and now I have to wash the cars.

Does it get any better than this?

hehehe

Ou crocus opened last week. Then it snowed. And snowed. And snowed again.

Today, 'tho, they've promised me warmish (45+ degrees) temps & sunshine. Cross your fingers.

Spring is here! spring is here! We have crocus's coming up.

Friday, March 05, 2004

Yay! Welcome home, Richard!

LOL I never looked at Green Eggs and Ham like this!

Btw, Richard is home again :D

Thursday, March 04, 2004

book review for GREEN EGGS AND HAM

Tuesday, March 02, 2004

Tami. We went to "Twisted" with Samuel Jackson and Ashley Judd. It was pretty predictable but still entertaining.

Awwwww......sorry bout that Tami. Haven't they used a family mediator or family counseling?
Gee, don't they know it's supposed to be for the good of the children and not the parents'
egos or selfish needs.

Sheesh!

I wish I hated my boss and co-workers. I wish they seemed a whole lot less like family :( I would so quit this job. I am on page 23 of a certification dictation that is about NOTHING but fighting over the kids. Both people are wrong. Neither one can see it. This case is three years old. The kids are in 2nd and 3rd grade and are on their third psychiatrist.

I'm so depressed.

Monday, March 01, 2004

what movie did you see, Biff and Muffy?
