Spring is here!!! I mowed the lawn and planted my garden today. My little garden is so cute. My dill came back to life too. I didn't realize that I left any of it in the garden last year but surprise, surprise, I have quite a nice dill plant amongst the weeds. I am worn out though. I really need to do the outside stuff in the early am to avoid the higher pollen levels. My lungs were SCREAMING 1/2 way through mowing the lawn.
Enjoy!!

A Planet Named George
Ancient people didn't have TV or electric lights. So, when the sun went down every night, they got their entertainment by watching the sky. And it was entertaining. Without city lights to interfere, the Milky Way was spectacular. Meteors flitted across the sky. Zodiacal lights chased the sunset.
Of special interest were the five naked-eye planets, the ones you could see without a telescope. (The ancients didn't have telescopes, either.) Countless hours were spent watching Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, whose movements were thought to control the affairs of men.
Would you believe, in spite of all that watching, they missed one? There is a sixth planet you can see without a telescope, a planet named George.
"George" is not as bright as the others, but it is there, glowing like an aqua-blue star of 6th magnitude. It measures four times wider than Earth, has more than 30 moons and a dozen or so thin rings. George goes around the sun every 84 years, always spinning on its side as if something knocked it over.
George is better known as Uranus.

Crap!!! More rain is on the way. There are lots of flood watches starting again. None in my direct area -- so no worries (YET). I want to get my garden started but it is still WAY too rainy. I may not get tomatos until June at this rate!!
I was able to do cross-stitch today and finished my latest project. It is called Zen Meditation. It is a yin/yang, buddah meditating and hands praying all in a very Zen swoop. Very nice. I still can't post photos here (I am clueless on computers) but it is very cool. You can see the pattern at www.cross-stitch-art.com if you want. It is a great site even if you don't do cross-stitch. If you do cross-stitch, check it out. Her patterns are great (very little if any backstitch), lots of styles and she is great to do business with, fast delivery, etc.
Now I have to decide on my next project. hmmmmmm

I am frustrated. I took a tumble the other day while making the bed. My feet got tied up in the blankets on the floor and down I went. Before you ask ---- no I wan't drinking. I am still sore, especially my hand. I keep trying to work on my crafts but it hurts too bad. I didn't sprain it but I think I got a deep bruise on it. Grrr! I am almost finished with a cross-stitch peice called Zen Meditation. It is very nice and I want to finish it so bad. Hopefully it will hurt less tomorrow.

Our friend and neighbor, the "Queen of Hollywood Stuntwomen", Polly Burson, passed away today about 2:00 in the afternoon from complications related to lung cancer. Her passing was dignified and very peaceful. We will miss her and her many stories. Please send your positive thoughts to mom. She and Polly had become fast friends.

From J.T. in El Paso, Texas...
In response to the recent issues rising about immigration, and the protesting everywhere else in America. This may seem a bit rash , and you may not entirely agree with it, but the general idea is clear.
1. Try driving around as a Gringo in Mexico with no liability insurance, and have an accident.
2. Enter MEXICO illegally - never mind immigration quotas, visas, international law, or any of that nonsense.
3. Once there, demand that the local government provide free medical care for you and your entire family.
4. Demand bilingual nurses and doctors.
5. Demand free bilingual local government forms, bulletins, etc.
6. Speak only English at home and in public and insist that your children do likewise.
7. Demand classes on American culture in the Mexican school system.
8. Demand a local Mexican drivers license. This will afford other legal rights and will go far to legitimize your unauthorized, illegal, presence in Mexico.
9. Insist that local Mexican law enforcement teach English to all its officers.
Good luck!
"ANTI ILLEGAL- ALIEN" ... "NOT ANTI- MEXICAN"
It will not happen in Mexico or any other country
in the world except right here in the United States...
Land of those who want to take care of everyone!
Most of these "students" protesting do not have the slightest clue as to what the heck is actually happening. They just want an excuse to leave school. What a disgrace this is to the very thing our country stands for. If you're going to wave a Mexican flag to support your heritage, fine. Just make sure there is an American one next to it, because its the land that gives all the immigrants, and yourselves, the freedoms you enjoy. If Mexico is SOOOOO great, why the heck leave it in the first place? I could care less about immigrants moving here, just as long as they do so legally, like everyone else from another country must. By doing so, you will be helping the legal, educational, and health systems work better for you, and those that actually belong here. Gracias.
If you agree, pass it on.
If you don't, Please....go ahead and try all the
above in Mexico (and enjoy the prison there too...).
