I get to have a hearth cath next tuesday.

Thats gross tami.

um... the colonoscopy will probably be pretty good for some pounds gone too, eh? Don't they "cleanse" you?

Happy Halloween to everyone!!

Health wise?? I get to go in for the EGD and colonoscopy on Monday. Gonna eat bad for you food today and tomorrow and Sunday it will all be gone. haha
I am holding steady at the 30 pounds lost. I am thinking that the liquid diet on Sunday and the no food until dinner on Monday should be good for a few pounds lost.

ahhhh got it. thanks George

Hope the doc figures out how to rid you of the edema Cathy.

And when the bear stops to take a pea, you kick him in the icehole..................................

Oh...btw...J.T. and Alana moved out last week and
guess what blew in this week? My "homeless" brother Joe--
from Denver!! I haven't seen him since 1983 but, I have
talked to him on the phone from time to time.

Ray and I had ONE week to ourselves! Argggh!

How is everybody's health these days?
I am still having a problem with edema in my ankles and feet.
I have a doc appt. next week and he better find a solution
to get rid of the edema -- other than cutting my feet off.

huh?

First you take a saw & cut a hole in the ice. Then you open a can of peas ......

Walking On Course
==================

The room was full of pregnant women and their partners, and the
Lamaze class was in full swing.

The instructor was teaching the women how to breathe properly,
along with informing the men how to give the necessary
assurances at this stage of the plan.

The teacher then announced, "Ladies, exercise is good for you.
Walking is especially beneficial. And, gentlemen, it wouldn't
hurt you to take the time to go walking with your partner!"

The room really got quiet.

Finally, a man in the middle of the group raised his hand.

"Yes?" replied the teacher.

"Is it all right if she carries a golf bag while we walk?"

Bear Hunting
=============

Two men went bear hunting.

While one stayed in the cabin, the other went out looking for a
bear.

He soon found a huge bear, shot at it but only wounded it.

The enraged bear charged toward him, he dropped his rifle and
started running for the cabin as fast as he could. He ran
pretty fast but the bear was just a little faster and gained on
him with every step.

Just as he reached the open cabin door, he tripped and fell
flat. Too close behind to stop, the bear tripped over him and
went rolling into the cabin.

The man jumped up, closed the cabin door
and yelled to his friend inside,

"You skin this one while I go and get another one!"

I got post cards from mom and dad from London Bridge in Lake Havasu, AZ. I don't know if they are still gone or not.

And Mel, I pay God every week at church. Its called a collection plate (also dodging lightning) Thing is, I didn't ask him to blow down my trees. Speaking of collection plates.... some real loser is going around stealing money from the alms boxes in the area churches. How sick is that? That's for feeding poor people.

Prayers are with you all.
Tami - if the wind blew down the trees, do you have to pay God part of it for knocking it down. (Melissa dodges lightening).
Has anyone heard from Frank and Sandy? Are they out of the way of the fires? Our area sent a bunch of firemen and trucks down to help. That has got to be so frightening.
Henry (the 19 lb. cat) tested negative for FIV and FLV so it looks like it is just allergies. Whew!

I think you're right, Ray :(

Hey, those fires aren't near mom and dad, are they?

Richard leaves for Taiwan on Friday :(

doesn't it cost $1000 to do anything with a home you own?

sounds like fun tami.

my wooded lot is much less wooded now. 3 trees went down yesterday in a windstorm. The apple tree downed the power/phone line, messing up the siding as the wires popped off the house. Ahhhh homeownership. Do you know that it costs approximately 1,000 dollars to cut down a tree and mulch the branches? That's if they don't remove the mulch or dig out the stump.

sounds extreme to me.

gots lotsa prayers coming at ya from El Paso as well. hope your son comes thru with flying colors, and give your sisters family a hug from west Texas.

Happy anniversary George and nettie!!!

like I said before.....Geocaching, quaint little sport .....or vast left wing conspiricy to kill off us old guys.
Along with a yucca plant getting me in the ankle, I also evidently got bit by some kinda bug that's got my knee all swollen and festered. Been to the doc twice for the swelling and infection. Is that exterme geocaching???

Our prayers are with you DeeAnna

happy anniversary G&J :)

DeeAnna, sounds like you could use some prayers your own self with all that going on :/ ((((((((((((((D))))))))))))))))

George and I celebrated our second anniversary this saturday went to a football game and geocashing and he sprained his ankle :( but all in all we had a great weekend

Sunday, October 26, 2003

or Martini!

Olivia Oliver? Maybe the middle name should have been Pimento

Wednesday, October 22, 2003

I'm hoping to get over that way this weekend, digicam in hand ;) I will tickle the baby's chin for you ;)

Aaaawwww! Yay, Sheila! Are you gonna get a chance to go see her? Tell her congratulations for me when you talk to her again. And try to get some pictures. The baby sounds gorgeous! Give 'em both a hug for me if/when you see them.

My best friend, Sheila, had her baby Monday morning. Olivia Roshona Oliver. 6 lb 3 oz. 19 3/4" long. lots of dark brown, almost black hair. Mom and baby are healthy and doing well. She had her c-section and so won't be going home for another day or two and even then her adoring hubby is taking a week off work to be home so she has more time to lie around in bed and recover. :) Lucky woman!

Hurrah for Coda!! I hope there are many more in the future!
Leisl, you better take care of your self!

I tried the lemon in water and I wanted to sweeten it and make lemonade!
Well, at least it kept my granddaughter from drinking out of my glass!

J.T. and Alana finally moved out. Now, J.T. can start being a parent--without immediate
back-up.

My appointment with the nutritionist went well and my diuretic arrived in
the mail today, so, I'm a happy camper!

I got 2 more meds from the doc yesterday. And will probably be doing the Stint thing after the first of the year.

Yippee for Coda!!

Coda scored his 1st touchdown in flag football last night! Yay!!!!

Wednesday, October 15, 2003

Broke down & took my cough to the doc yesterday. It's not a chest cold. I've got laryngitis, bronchitis and a bitchin sinus infection from hell. FOUR meds for one cough. Sheeeesh!

And sheep.

Tuesday, October 14, 2003

a bunch of people from Wyoming??

Monday, October 13, 2003

Cathy, lemon water tastes soooo good hot, like tea. Just cut a lemon in half and put it in a mug then fill the mug with hot water. I bet you find it works great.

George, what the heck is in Cody?

Sunday, October 12, 2003

Nettie and I are off to Cody Wyoming for the next week. I don't think they have internet in Cody...but I'm pretty sure the hotel has indoor plumbing.

I downloaded a couple hundred caches on the route. Yellowstone should be fun.

Friday, October 10, 2003

Then don't press on them. Duh! LOL!

LOL! Leisl....you're probably right! Her name is Jennifer James--
but, you never know! My PCP (primary care physician) has a Spanish name
Gregorio Castillo---but, he looks Chinese!

I guess I'll pick up some lemons at the store, if they help.

The ultrasound showed no gallstones, so my doctor is
stumped as to why I have painful tender spots along
my rib cage. Of course, if I don't press on them--they don't hurt!

"She has an English name
so, I think I'll be able to understand her. "

More likely, she's a Mexican-Hindu with a lisp & she just married a guy from Kansas.

Congrats on the BP! While you're waiting on the diuretics, just try cutting out all added sodium and start drinking lemon-water. Lemon is a natural diuretic.

Well, the new medication is working!! I went to the doctor on Tuesday
and my BP was 128/78--but, I have edema in my lower legs, ankles and
feet. (a side effect) Now, I have to take a diuretic. He had no samples, so, it'll probably
take a week for the mail order meds to get here.

I have jury duty on Tuesday.......hmmmmm.....I wonder if they'll let me
wear slippers because all my shoes hurt my feet! LOL!
I meet with the nutritionist on Monday, She has an English name
so, I think I'll be able to understand her.

Too bad about your voice Leisl; but, I'm sure someone might be enjoying it!
j/k

Now, here's an idea of an interesting vacation or family reunion!

Thursday, October 09, 2003

I HAVE NO VOICE!!! This sucks! Yesterday, I finally got it back enough to sound like Bea Arthur. This morning, so far, NOTHING! SUCKS! SUCKS! SUCKS! >:-(

ROFLMAO

Wednesday, October 08, 2003

Check this out

I was holding out for Marey Carey or the guy whose platform was "I breath." LOL!

Congrats on your new Guvna Mel. If I was a californicator...I woulda voted for Ahnold too.

Tuesday, October 07, 2003

Ray told them to profile you. You are a bad, bad man. ahh haahahaahahaha

Kettle Corn is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO yummy

Airport screeners are profiling me.

Hooray! Good luck with phase 2. You'll do great!

wow. cool beans, Ray. Good luck, as if you need luck!

Monday, October 06, 2003

On a different note.....
I took the phase 1 test for the Transportation Security Administration a few weeks back and passed. I'll be doing the phase 2 assessment on Nov 6th. I have to go to Albuquerque NM to do the assessment. With any luck I'll be an airport screener before too long.

wish me luck.

Kettle Corn ROCKS!! I love the stuff!!
they can have my kettle corn when they pry it from my cold dead fingers.

George,
After looking at the geocaching website briefly. it appears that it uses a fairly simple database. I would suggest you use SQL as the database and not access because of the potential size involved. With school and work I do not have the time to put into developing this or I would be glad to help.

And it just plain SUCKS. :-)

Kettle corn is evil, lacks nutrition and I'm pretty sure the FDA will be banning it in the near future.

I was shopping at Target yesterday and I found a bottle
of "Kettle Corn Popcorn Glaze" made by Back To Basics.
Now, you can make your own kettle corn at home! The stuff is
the consistency of sugar/salt and you add it to the oil before
popping. It is not for air popped popcorn.

In case you don't have a Target near you---order it yourself from
the people who make it. They have a lot of stuff at their website
like smoothie machines, dehydrators, old-fashioned popcorn poppers
and juicers. They have some recipes too.

Friday, October 03, 2003

Yes, Ray, that is what it means. I am hoping that they figure it out too.
I got a bonus at work for the last project I worked on. Bonuses come few and far between for project work. It will pay for most of Henry's teeth cleaning.

Thursday, October 02, 2003

The recipe sites take me back to high school & the Madrigal Dinners we'd do in Trouveres. :-) Fun!

Cool site, Cath! I bet Ra & her friends would get a kick out of it. I'm gonna have to remember to show her when she gets home from school.

"amnesiatic sedative"?

Can I get one for parenting?

The Boke of Gode Cookery
Medieval/Renaissance Food Homepage

These are a few sites for Medieval recipes, etc.
(Now, all I can think of is Tom Hanks saying, "Don't let me get medieval on your buttocks!" LOL!!)

Leisl,
Here's the main website for the Society of Creative Anachronism, Inc.

It sounds kinda cool :)

Wednesday, October 01, 2003

so, Missy, basically what you're telling us is they intend on stuffing scopes in BOTH ends??????
will they see each other?? like looking through a keyhole??

actually, I've had the EGD done about 3 times now. it's not all that bad. they give you an amnesiatic sedative so you don't remember it.

good luck and I hope they figure out what's wrong with you physically.

Society of Creative Anachromisms? I like the sounds of that.

That was gross.

Hey Tami,
When you had that festival, was that associated with the Society of Creative Anachronisms?
I found a web page with recipes for those kind of festivals. If you're interested, let me know. I'll dig it up.

Remember the "WasssUp Dudes?"
Check out this version....hehehehe!

They're putting it off clear until November? Ugh! Hang in there, Melvin. Breathe ....
