Can Polling Location Influence How Voters Vote?

A study by Stanford GSB indicates that YES, a polling location can - and does - influence how voters cast their ballots.

I wonder who paid for this "study" and would its financier have any weight on the findings? I suggest there should be a government grant to study this question, say, at Columbia University or U.C. Berkeley. What do ya think?
