Got a buyer for my house. It should close on or before 8/31 and I'll get enough moolah to pay off all of my bills. Just got a "back up" offer, too so I guess it's set. Feels good to know I will get out from under.

I'm loving it at the farm. Andrea's being so good about 'sharing' it all and it's really starting to feel like home. I got some more chickens and this week I'm going to start re-vamping an old outbuilding/shed into a decent chicken coop. We're going to move the rabbits to where the chickens are now. We've got 6 does and 2 bucks now. 3 of the does are pregnant and expecting in a couple weeks. The other 3 does are out of the first litter and aren't old enough yet to breed. We already "harvested" their siblings. Tastes like chicken. haha.

The ducks quit laying eggs when it got so dang hot, so they're back in the big pen until Spring, then I'll coop them up again to get eggs to sell at the market. The chickens are still laying though. I have 3 bantam hens and 3 Brahmas plus 1 rooster of each. I won't be getting anymore bantams though, their eggs are about the size of quail eggs. Great for my Pysanky though.

I got all the information to set up a booth at the Boise Saturday Market next year. We'll sell eggs (duck and chicken), lamb and rabbit. I found a butcher that is USDA that will do the rabbit and we already had one for the lamb. We should be able to make enough for the farm to pay for itself - which is like getting a raise, right? I'm trying to figure out how we can sell the goat milk and/or cheese, but that's proving to be more difficult on our small scale.

Speaking of goats - our favorite nanny got her toe broke. We think the Billy goat did it. She's not always receptive to his advances and I've seen him stand on her hind feet before so she couldn't get away. Anyway, her hoof got all infected and gross and so the vet ended up amputating her toe. Betcha didn't know goats had toes. They do. So, now we have a one-toed goat. Any suggestions for names?

Andrea has a job interview today with the Elks. Fingers crossed. She's been temp-ing at Idaho Power, but it doesn't pay much at all. She's been looking since March, but everyone keeps saying she's over-qualified. Doh! She's sure handling it all well.

I applied for a job at the courthouse in Caldwell. Would sure be nice to lose the commute. Rush hour traffice in/out of Boise is stupid bad.

Still not smoking. 63 days today :-) My health insurance pays for the Nicotrol. Cool, eh?
