I can sing! I went to the throat doc again on Thursday. The hemorrhage has healed but there's still a lot of varicosity. My chords still don't close all the way so my voice is very breathy, but I do have wave which is very good. Bottom line: I can sing & do shows again! I just have to be very careful - no belting. He's changed my meds from Prevacid to Nexium (the little purple pill) and I'm not aloud to take ibuprofen or aspirin because I'm still a high risk for more hemorrhaging. The doc the next time I feel a pop I am to come in immediately & we'll schedule a laser procedure & zap the varicosities. Otherwise, I don't have to go back for 6 months. Hooray! Hooray for miracles! Hooray for singing!

Leisl, I also take the purple pill. Nexium. Works great. And after awhile it heals everything and you don't have to take it that often. I developed acid reflux when they took out my gall bladder a few years ago. So, hopefully it will heal you also! I just have to go now every 3 years and they check out to see if the Barrett's disease I got in the esphongus is staying the same. I guess it can guess cancer if it grows. Take care and good for you!
