Well guys, I survived this years Black Friday. I must say, this year was far worse than most. I'd say it's partly due to the current state of the economy, and people really needing good deals instead of just wanting them.

Well, this year, our one of our local stores had a great deal on the 4.5 quart kitchen-aid stand mixers.....over $200 less than retail. As you all may know, Josh's mother is disabled and is on a ventilator and loved to cook. Using a traditional hand mixer is quite hard for her, so my in-laws and I decided to get together and surprise her with the mecca of all stand mixers. Never once has she even dreamed of asking for one due to the fact that they tipically run around $350.

So I get to this store, well before the sun comes up (and really, it wasn't even friday yet *wink*) only to find out that they only had 6 in the store.....that's right 6!! Needless to say, when you have 75 people wanting the same thing.......it can get ugly. I was fast enough to get my hands on one and bear hug it only to have some (dare I use the word) *LADY* try to take it from me. When I didn't let go she proceeded to punch me in the face thinking I'd drop it. Apparently she didn't know who she was dealing with, cuz I dropped to the ground with it in a death grip and said, " Listen here lady, I'm not letting go and I'll stay here all day if need be so back off!!"

She did, and I got up with my prize. I've got 4 bruises and a red puffy face......but seeing the joy on Sharyl's face when she opens that box and discovers that in it is something she has wanted for literally years, but could never afford and wouldn't dream of asking for.......that will make it all worth it. Oh yea, on a side note.....the lady was escorted out and was not allowed to purchase anything in her cart! lol >:Þ

All in all, it was a very productive day and at 3pm I slept.

Love everyone
Amber
