$700,000,000,000.00 to bail out the greed stricken corrupt big shots was shot down today. They'll probably get it to pass sometime this week but personally, I would like to watch them squirm a bit more.

$700,000,000,000.00 FRIGGIN DOLLARS. Thats a $3,200.00 tab for every Man, Woman and Child in the US.

I think they should make it a national ballot issue in November and let US decide.

My vote? Let em burn.

Instead of just giving these butt heads the money, why not give that money to the people and let us infuse it into the economy. Also, recoup the hugh severances and bonuses these greedy bast##s got when the companies failed then prosecute those who we can to send a real message to the crooked business people and politicians that we won't stand for it anymore. Just my opinion. There are those politicians that would love for the government to OWN the big money companies then go into that business on their own. That, coupled with socialized medicine and welfare, wealth redistribution (tax the rich and give to the poor), the politburo could then just change the name of our country from the United States of America to the American Socialist Republic (or - República socialista americana)

We could give the 700 billion to the people who are losing their homes so they can pay up their mortgage. The banks don't fail, people keep their homes, let it trickle UP for once. How's that?

I was thinking along the same lines as Tami. Give it to the people who are losing their homes so they can get current, then force the banks to revert the ARM loans to 30 year fixed with the same interest in effect before the ARM adjusted. That way, we the people aren't buying the homes for them, and they get to keep the home they knew they wouldn't be able to afford when their mortgage rates adjusted up. If congress decides to bail out people for making bad credit decisions, I'll be expecting my check soon.

AS a side note, Crude was down $11.43 at the closing bell yesterday. Are we going to see the prices drop as drastically at the pump anytime soon? Seems when crude jumped a buck there was a 20 rise at the pump the next day, so we should see a drop of over a buck today.....right?
