It's all seems to be happening without us!

In the past five days Hare of the Dog Ranch has gone from "maybe next year we can really get this going" to:

1. Highly sought after graphic designer is doing our logo, etc in exchange for eggs and rabbit.
2. Idaho's first (and only) State inspected processing plant is giving us a cut-rate because we trained their people on rabbit processing.
3. Contractor for College of Idaho (Caldwell) has offered to buy every egg my hens can produce at an incredible price ($1.50/doz)
4. The following businesses are interested in contracting with us for rabbit: Boise Co-op; Cafe Vicino (Boise); and Casino Club (McCall). We also are waiting for a call back from Copper Canyon restaurant in Nampa.
5. We got the okay to sell at Boise Saturday market (even though we're late in applying and can't start until May)
6. Music of the Vine would like to do a wine pairing event featuring our rabbit
7. Indian Creek Winery wants to talk about putting our label on their wine
8. Business plan is being put together by someone who does that for a living (for free)
9. Our breeding rabbit supplier is going out of business and sold us all the stock we want for 1/2 price ... plus all the nesting boxes/water bottles we can carry.

It's all moving incredibly fast and I can't believe all the interest! It's fantastic.

In other news -- got my check-up labs back and total and "bad" cholesterol is slightly high, but my "good" cholesterol kicks ass enough that my ratio is better than optimal (4.4) (probably from all the rabbit I eat. You know it has less cholesterol than a lot of fish?) Blood pressure is perfect (120/80 or maybe it's 180/20, its the same as the chart where it says what it "should" be) :) Glucose levels are also within the "good" range (103).

Right now we've only got 9 breeding does, but we're fixin to buy at least that many more on Sunday. We've got 26 little ones ready for market in 3 weeks, 4 does ready to kindle, and we're buying about 40 more babies this weekend. Chickens, we've got a dozen and I ordered 50 Chantecler chicks that should get here in May. We're pasturing the chickens, so feed is minimal until winter. You should come visit. It's fun here, no matter what Ron says.
