I get to go to my first stress class on Monday. Yippee! After that I get to take an 8 week course for stress management that will incorporate yoga, tai chi, visualization, etc. It is an $800 class that I get to do for free. Yippee! I am really looking forward to it for new ideas. Apparently now that I am less stressed my body doesn't know how to react to 'normal' - it thinks that stressed to no end is normal. I may still have to go to neurology to rule out other stuff but this will help regardless. The good news is that the numbness is less often and less severe when it does happen so something is improving. Yay!

Deep breathing for relaxing & lowering blood pressure/heart rate (works great for panic attacks & stress spikes - I learned it on Oprah & it works):
Breathe in deep to a slow count of 4.
Hold for a slow count of 3.
Exhale until lungs are completely empty to a slow count of 8.

Try it. You'll be surprised how calm you feel after. I used to have to do it for 4 or 5 reps, but now 1 or 2 suffice. I even tried it this time before going on stage for Macbeth. I was sooooo calm & not the least bit nervous.
