The friend who does my hair is a newly singled mom of 2. Her ex is an ass (aren't they all?). Her youngest boy will be 8 years old Halloween. He's asthmatic & has been having troubles with his tonsils for the last couple years. Lately it was getting real bad, so he had a tonsillectomy last week. During the surgery, he aspirated some fluid which settled into his lungs & became severe pneumonia with a mass the size of 2 baseballs with several smaller masses. He's throwing up (& diarrheaing) blood. He was unresponsive & limp & running a fever of 105.4, then it would drop to 87, then spike back up to 106ish. They gave him IV antibiotics ... which he had an allergic reaction to so he had to have IV benadryl & more/different antibiotics. Then the point where the IV enterred his little body became infected. And on top of all of this, he's got the flu. Yesterday was the 1st day all week (knock on wood) that they didn't end up in the ER. They even spent a night at Primary Children's Hospital. His poor mom.
Please, say some prayers for them. They really need them right now.

Will say a prayer for them. I know how bad asthma alone can be so my heart goes out to the little guy.
I must say that with the flu shot shortage, this is the first year I don't mind the asthma. Got my shot yesterday.

I was one of those sickly kids with bad tonsils, so I know how horrible that is...and with those other medical problems...Yikes! I will say a prayer indeed!
