Micron has announced layoffs at the Boise site. Nearly 1000 were let go today alone
Ray Jeannette and I were spared from this. So if you see this on the news don't fret..

Sunday evening they started escorting personnel out one at a time. By the time it was over , at 9PM, we had lost 4 operators and the shift supervisor from our area. It was rather scary when the fab manager walked up to me, handed me my bosses pager and said "you're it for the rest of the week". I feel lucky to have made it through the cutbacks.

whew!! I thought Ray's job was "golden" - didn't know he was in jeopardy. How about Bart? Did he make it?

As near as I can tell...it looks like Bart made it too. At least he's still listed in the employee look up. It turns out there were no "golden" jobs this time around, I think it REALLY helped that SOMEONE instilled a good work ethic in us when we were kids.(Thanks Mom and Dad) The Fab Manager told me today he was very impressed with the way me and my team handled things this week.
They told us they're done with the fabs. They may still outsource some other non essential jobs such as janitors and such. They're still "restructuring" in some areas and may infill with some of them.
