I just finished a instant message with dad and he asked that I pass some information along to everyone on the blog. This is bad news, so you might want to have a seat. :( I'm going to kinda cut and paste this.

Uncle Marvin passed away about 2 hours ago in Omaha from a heart attack. He has been in bad shape with his lungs for many years now. His lungs were calcifying so the heart attack was a kindness for him. We aren't expected to respond in any way. Just need to be aware. He was working (volunteer) at the church's family information center (geneology) when it happened. Went very quickly. I don't have an address for Aunt Dorothy, but as she has alergies so Dad suggested an e-card can be sent to marvin3@cox.net . We need to keep aunt Dorothy and the family in our prayers.

I have many fond memories of Uncle Marvin and will keep him dear to my heart.

Ray

I just heard. Uncle Marvin played such a huge role in making us who we are today. He always had time for us kids. I remember all the trips to A&W for rootbeer floats. He made it such an adventure. He always had a lap available and tickles to make me laugh. I will miss him loads!

I am beyond words. He will be missed, but his love, strength and humor will live forever in my heart.

Don't know if you all knew or not but at one time or another in your lives, you were destined to be cared for my Marvin and Dorothy if anything were to happen to your parents (Dick/Sharon/Frank/Sandy). It was in our wills.

He was a very nice man. He will be missed. Frank, have a safe trip to Nebraska. Sorry we all can't make it with you.

Just folded myself an "Aunt Dorothy", and reminded myself that I'm not a cowboy riding across the open rage. I'm just a little boy playing on a toy horse. I love you Uncle Marvin.

In some of the best memories from my childhood, Marvin is there. It was always fun when he was around.

He's that kind of man. I'm certain he touched the lives of everyone he became aquainted with.
